Situated on a farm in the heart of North Devon in the beautiful Taw Valley. It is within easy access to both Exmoor and Dartmoor National Parks as well as all of North Devon’s attractions and beaches.

Exploring on foot or by pedal there are some great options nearby. Hire a bike and set off from Barnstaple on the Tarka Trail, 30 miles of cycle and walking track which takes you through canopy covered paths along the Torridge River and on past the estuary beach at Instow. A must visit is to the stunning RHS Rosemoor, it’s a wonderful day out for all the family with great emphasis on involving children in fun workshops and activities throughout the holiday periods. Many other opportunities for family fun days out are, Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, Exmoor Zoo, Ilfracombe Sea Safari and a day trip to the enchanting Lundy Island.

On entering the property off the hallway you will find ample room for shoes and coats in the cupboard under the stairs, there is also a separate downstairs WC. Off to the left you enter the spacious, well-equipped kitchen/diner, the kitchen offers two electric ovens and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and dishwasher. To the rear of the kitchen the utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. To the right of the entrance hall a spacious dining room with beamed ceiling and fireplace housing a wood burner. French doors from this room lead into the large garden. Following on within the house the dining room leads into the very spacious lounge with large leather sofas and chairs, Smart TV and another fireplace with wood burner. Stairs rising from the lounge lead you to a large and airy landing which leads to four en-suite bedrooms. Each room is beautifully furnished, one super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite shower and WC, a super-king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC, one king-size (which can be made up as a twin on request) with en-suite shower and WC and a twin zip-and-link (which can be made up as a king-size on request) with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and WC.

Outside the property guests can enjoy a large, totally enclosed garden mainly laid to lawn with shrubs and planters for seasonal colour and interest. A large patio area with garden furniture and BBQ lies within the garden this is immediately accessed from the French doors from the dining room. To the front of the property there is additional lawn space and ample, dedicated, parking for four cars.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Fantastic property and ample space for our group of 4 adults and 3 children. The kitchen was brilliant and had more than enough crockery - we enjoyed eating together. It was great that each bedroom had its own en suite and the super king size beds were a luxury. I would highly recommend the property - we could not find fault with it at all. The beaRead moreutiful beaches were a 50 minute drive away (Putsborough & Saunton) and were fantastic but be prepared for this travel time if beaches are a priority. Hide

A beautiful home with beautiful surroundings. We went away for a family holiday with 3 generations, partners and our dog and this home was just perfect, so well thought out with attention to detail, loads of space and a lovely secure garden. The kids spent time surfing (a 30 minute drive) and we did lots of walking. Some great little pubs to eat ouRead moret (again a little drive), including the Chichester Arms and lovely cream tea at The Corn Dolly. Wonderful, helpful hosts - will definitely return! Hide

Easily one of the best equipped cottages, for both humans and the fur babies, we have ever stayed at. Our host Clayre could not have been more helpful. Wine and cake on our arrival, what more could you ask for. We will definitely return to Abbots Marsh, next time we hope for better weather.

This house was ideal for our family Christmas week. Four good sized bedrooms with en suites plus a downstairs cloakroom. Lovely big kitchen to have family breakfast and two ovens which was great. Beautiful dining room with huge table for family lunch. Our hosts were very welcoming and helpful. Thoroughly recommend.

Wonderful cottage, so spacious, incredibly well equipped, comfy beds, chairs etc. The gardens were nice front and back, we were very lucky with the weather (October) and the surrounding area is lovely. Saw cows and chickens (it's a working farm) but no intrusive noise or smells. Owners are very friendly and accommodating.
