There’s no shortage of things to do at this property, whether you’re on a relaxing group retreat to the countryside or celebrating an occasion with a fun-filled holiday. Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms (and with the ability to host a further two guests if required), this beautiful barn conversion offers five-star accommodation with plenty of space for you to spread out, as well as a range of in-house entertainment. The nearby town of Crickhowell (6 miles) has shops for food supplies, an information centre, and a selection of pubs and restaurants for special meals. For those keen to explore the Brecon Beacons, discover your surroundings on foot, go horseback riding, or try your hand at gliding for a spectacular bird’s eye view.

 

Inside, the house is full of character and charm. Exposed beams run throughout the property, and the furnishings are both comfortable and elegant, with homely details and bright splashes of colour. The large kitchen/diner is the perfect place to gather for lazy breakfasts as you plan your day, and dinnertimes full of laughter as everyone pitches in to help prepare the meal. For those who are off dinner duty that evening, there’s even a sofa looking out to the garden for you to recline on. Afterwards, light the wood burner in the lounge for a cosy night indoors. Share stories and enjoy drinks as your feet are warmed by the underfloor heating throughout the ground floor and make the most of the Smart TV which boasts SkyTV, DVD, and an Amazon Firestick. For multi-generational groups with younger guests (or big kids of any age), the garden room is a fantastic second space. Accessed via the garden, there is an Xbox 360 games console, Smart TV, DVD and table football to have fun with. When the sun shines, there’s even more entertainment outside. Challenge each other to a table tennis tournament on the full-size table, then toast the winner on the pretty riverside terrace. Back inside, two separate staircases lead to the bedrooms and a peaceful night’s rest, but do mind your head upstairs: the bedrooms and bathrooms have sloping ceilings, as well as exposed beams.

Nature lovers and adventurers will enjoy a day at Llangorse (6.5 miles). Test your climbing ability at the Multi Activity Centre or lace up your boots and pack a picnic for a stroll around the lake. Llangorse has the largest natural lake in South Wales, and its home to lots of wildlife, so grab your camera and binoculars. Spend a picturesque afternoon amidst the ruins of Tretower Castle (3.5 miles), and to visit a working watermill drive to Talgarth (8.5 miles). You can buy fresh bread from the Mill’s bakery, made with their own flour.

Lovely cottage on a working farm. Good location and easy to find. Nice log burner and supply of wood for the cold evenings. Cottage has everything you need and more. Comfortable beds, certainly get a peaceful night's sleep.

Lovely barn conversion with plenty of space for a large party. Attractive to families with children but youngsters would need supervision due to stream and animals. Easy access to Crickhowell and plenty of countryside to explore. Several pubs/restaurants within reach, supermarkets rather sparse but accessible in Brecon or Abergavenny. A lovely, comfortable and well-stocked holiday cottage. Great to be in the middle of a working farm with, horses and sheep. Our dog immediately decided it was a farm dog and wanted to join the very friendly farm dogs. Lovely walks and a beautiful stream, great pub in walking distance. The farm is really well positioned for access to Crickhowell/HayRead more/Brecon and all the activities at Llangorse lake. One really minor issue is that there is a bit of traffic noise but great for a family break. Hide

Clean, well equipped (inc. provisions for young children e.g. cutlery, toys, potty seat), cosy and warm, easy to find location with parking for 2-3 cars, but most importantly very welcoming host who were approachable and kind. Highly recommended for families and would stay again.

A good place for multi-generational holiday. Very warm, despite very bad weather whilst we were there. Spacious downstairs, fine upstairs too. Added interest of working farm, with horses, tractors and lambing. Also a rushing stream through the farm, and places to walk from the front door. Lots of books and some children's toys proved helpful and enRead moretertaining. Good access to Crickhowell and other towns. The owners very pleasant and helpful. Lovely stay at Wern Farm Barn. The barn was very comfortable with lots of character. In a perfect location to feel you ve escaped and to explore the beautiful area. The owners were friendly and accommodating. We especially loved the horses Harry being the favourite.

A home from home in a wonderful location. We had everything we needed in this cosy, comfortable, clean and well-equipped house. The owners were on hand for any queries and information about the area but we were left totally to ourselves and had a perfect and relaxing break. Thank you.

What a beautiful home for the weekend. Our hosts were so accommodating and yet gave us plenty of privacy. The conversion is gorgeous and the surrounding landscape is stunning.

Stunning location - beautiful walks on your doorstep (no need to drive), and is ideally situated within a 15 minute drive to all the adventure activities such as canoeing, pony trekking, climbing, etc! Has a fantastic dog friendly pub within easy walking distance (you must try the steak & ale pie but also includes a great veggie menu). Excellent property, clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable, facilities great. Location is relaxing and the owners are helpful and polite. lovely watching the sheep go past the garden. Would definitely use again

We enjoyed our stay at Wren Farm Barn, it was a superb base to explore the Brecon Beacons. The accommodation was fantastic everything there you would need and more. The owners and their dogs were friendly and always around if needed.

Lovely comfortable barn in a stunning area. Youngest made great use of the games room, great pub within walking distance, just a shame the weather wasn't on our side to use the Tikki Bar. Lovely stay, thank you.
