Escape to the Scottish countryside at this fabulous cottage in Angus. Up to eight guests can experience wonderful walks nearby and enjoy the abundance of wildlife on the doorstep.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting folklore, rich history and breathtaking scenery of Angus, Scotland. Tucked away within the grounds of the grand Airlie Estate, this beautiful property has been carefully renovated to create a single-level retreat that’s bursting with character. Once used as a farm, this former steading is an idyllic vantage point for parties of keen ramblers and nature enthusiasts to enjoy the spectacular countryside. Gather your loved ones for days dedicated to adventures near and far, returning for lazy evenings spent idling in front of the fire, sampling delectable local scran and a wee dram of whisky.

Inside, you’ll discover a cosy haven finished with a simple, yet elegant decor, antique-style furniture and homely details. A roaring open fire in the lounge completes the look, creating a deliciously snug atmosphere for relaxing with a good book, chosen from the mini library on the shelves. The generously equipped kitchen is surprisingly contemporary, but the addition of a traditional Aga, mismatched chairs and unique lighting introduces a timeless charm. Uncork a bottle of wine in the dining room, swapping stories over dinner and planning the next day’s adventures. The bedrooms are a welcome retreat after a busy day, each featuring wonderfully soft linen, delicate floral details and pretty artwork. Three of the bedrooms share a spacious family bathroom, but the master bedroom has a handy en-suite. Depending on what suits your party, the two double bedrooms can be converted into twins on request. The private garden is perfect for enjoying a glass of something delicious as you admire the panoramic views across the estate. The grounds are a wonderful combination of sweeping lawns, ancient trees and an abundance of wildlife, with glimpses of the surrounding glens and Munros.

We had a lovely stay at Wellbank Cottage. Great garden and outdoor space. There is a pub 5 minute drive away. Nice walks on the doorstep and short drive away too. Cottage itself was clean and we had everything we needed. Would return. Thanks!

There's a mug in the kitchen cabinet that says: "Home is a feeling". And that's exactly what Wellbank Cottage does. You're at home instantly. The surroundings are so so lovely. The house is clean, warm, cozy and tidy. And another great plus: the beds and mattresses are excellent! We loved cooking at the AGA-stove although it does take some getting Read moreused to. The caretaker is super helpful. We're a family with 4 kids (10-16) and everyone had a lovely time. Hide
