This delightful property is perfect for a group of friends or a family reunion; sleeping ten guests in five bedrooms, and with two super-king-size bedrooms able to be made into a twin room, it easily adaptable for many parties. Adults and teens can enjoy their own space with both the living room and the lounge having wood burners, while the hall is perfect for relaxing with a good book – there is a wood burner here too. Explore the surrounding countryside discovering eateries and pubs along the way before returning to soak weary limbs in the bubbling hot tub.

Simple, elegant interiors are complemented by a neutral palette of white and cream, creating a light, airy space punctuated with tasteful flashes of colour in the artwork and soft furnishings. With a winning combination of style and comfort throughout, there is plenty of space for large parties to spread out and find a little solitude. Gather for celebratory meals in the dining room and, on warm evenings, open the patio doors to the deck. After a day of exploring, the laundry space and cloakroom is essential for drying outdoor gear and ideal for a dog bed. Warm your toes against the AGA in the kitchen before gathering for a movie night in the lounge, the wood burner roaring and your pup at your feet. The five bedrooms are elegant in relaxing tones for a restful nights sleep, and older guests will benefit from the accessible ground-floor bedroom. Upstairs, find a further king-size bedroom and two super-king-size bedrooms – one with an en-suite shower room. Windermere (1 mile) is a vibrant village with independent shops, stylish bars and many different eateries. Kids will love The World of Beatrix Potter (2 miles) while history enthusiasts will enjoy visiting the stately homes nearby including Sizergh, Levens Hall and Holker Hall, all within 15 miles. Outdoor enthusiasts can try canoeing, kayaking, windsurfing and sailing with Windermere Outdoor Adventure Centre (1.5 miles), and Treetop Lake District (2 miles) offers high ropes courses for all ages. Walkers and hikers can spend a day exploring the mountains and tarns of Langdale Valley (10 miles) and, at the end of a busy day, treat yourself to a meal at one of the many restaurants and pubs.

Beautiful house and location. Beds comfy. Sociable kitchen space, well equipped. Enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife and also the jets blasting overhead! Shame the pub in walking distance is a bit grim.

Just WOW! What a fantastic property. Stayed there with my family, there was 8 of us and it is lovely and spacious for everyone. Brilliant location for everywhere, however you feel like your miles away as the ground as so big and beautiful. It just felt like home from home and we were all sad to leave. We had our 2 dogs with us too and they lived thRead moree freedom as its all fenced in and very secure. My sons all have paddle boards and it is so near to the lake for this. This is a wonderful house for family gatherings and celebrations -no expense has been spared in making it the perfect place to relax in real luxury! We particularly loved the fabulous well equipped spacious kitchen with AGA. Lovely bed linen and towels which make such a difference. The huge garden is quite stunning with azaleas and rhododendrons. Beautiful house and gardens. Works really well for a large group, lots of space. Very well equipped and nice touches eg dog biscuts, goodie basket . Views from the rear decking area lovely. Would totally recommend.

Beautifully presented, very well equipped traditional large lakeside house in a quiet, beautiful area of Windermere. Watch out for the badger that comes to hoover up the bird food around the bird feeder in the back garden! It helps if you are used to cooking on an Aga. All in all we had a superb week! Would come again anytime.

Absolutely gorgeous, light and roomy house, in a wonderful position near the lake with a raised decking area with fabulous views. The house was spotless, very well equipped, and lovely comfortable beds. The gardens are lovely, we were fascinated by the different birds visiting the feeders. Fabulous views of lake from bedrooms and garden. Well equipped, spacious, comfortable house, both inside and out. Luxury beds and bedding. We loved the hot tub too. Good situation to local shops, amenities and countryside. Really enjoyed our week at Watermead with the family.
