The picturesque town of Nairn (3.5 miles) offers beautiful sandy beaches, riverside walks and a promenade with fantastic views over the Moray Firth. The town also hosts the Nairn Agriculture Show and the Highland Games, and has a variety of quirky independent shops, the Nairn Museum, and a host of friendly pubs and excellent restaurants.
There are also numerous golf courses in the region including Castle Stuart (14 miles), Nairn (4.5 miles) and Nairn Dunbar (3 miles). For those interested in history and heritage there are plenty of sites to explore including Culloden Battlefield (15.5 miles), Clava Cairns (16 miles), Brodie Castle (4 miles), Cawdor Castle and Gardens (8.5 miles), Fort George (11.5 miles), the Highlanders' Museum (11.5 miles) and Logie Steading (13 miles).
There are also opportunities to take part in a wide range of outdoor activities including cycling, angling, archery and flying. And of course, not forgetting that there are a number of distilleries in the area including Dallas Dhu and Benromach (both 9 miles). The bustling city of Inverness (19.5 miles) offers a range of great places to eat and drink as well as a variety of art galleries, shops and attractions including Inverness Castle, St Andrew's Cathedral, the Botanic Gardens, Eden Court Theatre and Cinema and the Hall of Names. A little further afield you can explore the mysterious and spectacular Loch Ness (28 miles).
