This lovingly converted farm building is set in the tranquil countryside of Ceredigion, ideal for exploring both the stunning coastline and the spectacular mountains of mid-Wales

A Welsh cottage with a South-of-France atmosphere, this former farm building provides a relaxing base for exploring the Cambrian Mountains and the coast at Aberystwyth. Bring your whole team for beach walks and hill hikes — the house is spacious and sociable, including a private garden with a sunny patio perfect for lazing in the fresh air, post-adventure. There’s even a hot tub, so you can well and truly unwind and indulge.

The property itself is a converted farm cottage, all laid out over a single floor. Begin in the kitchen, a contemporary space equipped with everything you need to rustle up a hiking picnic for the troops. Head through to the open-plan hub of the house, a comfy lounge with TV and a dining space beside a pair of French doors, which open straight out onto the patio. Here you can take your meal alfresco, before the stunning view of the hills while the kids play on the lawn. When you’re ready to recharge for tomorrow, choose your bedrooms. There are four to pick from, two peaceful doubles, including one with an en-suite shower room, and two twins, perfect for younger guests to make their own dens in their holiday home. As part of a complex of properties on this working farm, there are also shared grounds and a play area to explore - your own slice of Welsh farm life.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

For a seaside jaunt, Aberystwyth is a pretty 6-mile drive away along the path of the Afon Rheidol. Stroll the vibrant town, try some local cuisine, or head straight to the beach with its Royal Pier, where you can enjoy traditional amusements. From the heart of town, you can also catch a ride on the Vale of Rheidol Railway, a steam train that follows the hills and valleys to Devil’s Bridge. Here you can alight and take in the astonishing sights of Devil’s Bridge Waterfalls and the impressive vaulted bridge that guards them. Head northeast from the cottage and in 9 miles you’ll reach the Nant yr Arian centre and woodland. The Cottages are beautiful, a little tired, but Gareth the owner did say they are due to be spruced up in January/February. Nothing is too much trouble for Gareth, very happy to chat and sort out any problems. We had no lights by the hot tub for the evening, within an hour Gareth had fitted a light for us.

We had a lovely week stay, made use of the play equipment, bbq table and hot tub as well as watching the sun set from the garden. The house is a tired and could do with some things being replaced/improved (we put a battery in the clock) The living area is quite dark as there isnt much natural light. Our biggest issue was that there were a lot of flRead moreies in the house right from when we arrived and we couldnt seem to get rid of them, to be fair to owner, we didnt report this during our stay. A fab few days at Ty Lloi. A lovely family getaway. (5 adults 2 toddlers) The hot tub was fab as was the built in bbq table. (Covered area which is great for outside entertainment whatever the weather). We loved the location although it is rather remote if you do not have transport - 15 in a taxi from train station. It is well equipped inc microwavRead moree, although no hair dryer. The view from the lounge and garden are wonderful, the sheep & play area kept the children well entertained. Would return Hide
