Situated in the beautiful and popular village of Cartmel, this property is within easy walking distance of the village square where you will find a clutch of excellent inns, cafes and restaurants. Special occasions are best celebrated at the two Michelin star awarded restaurant, while the nearby pub is perfect for those restorative post-walk lunches. Set out on foot from the village to follow one of the many easy walking routes, taking in Hampsfell and its panoramic views across the Morecambe Bay as well as Grange Over Sands and Eggerslack Woods.

Step inside through the back door and leave coats, boots and bags in the large boot room before continuing through to the kitchen. Spacious and bright with shaker style units, the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you should need to prepare delicious meals during your stay. Once prepared, enjoy meals in the elegant dining room next door, where antique furniture adds a charming rustic feel and French windows allow you to spill out into the garden during the summer months. At the other side of the central hall is the bright and sunny sitting room. Decorated in muted colours with cosy soft furnishings, a charming window seat and gas log effect fire, this is a homely room for relaxing after a long day on foot. From the main hall, stairs lead up to the first floor where there are three individually decorated bedrooms. The master double boasts a comfortable French style king-size bed and views over the green, while the second double overlooks the garden and the twin bedroom is perfect for children with views out to both sides. The bedrooms share a modern bathroom with shower over bath.

Set above the garage and accessed via its own entrance, a studio annexe offers a secluded space away from the rest of the house. This modern suite with pitched ceilings and Velux windows comprises a king-size bed, sitting room area with TV and shower room, perfect for couples in search of a spot of privacy while away.

While the property provides ample space for a party of 8 it should be noted that this is across both the cottage and the annex, so lounge and dining space in the cottage alone are better suited to a party of 6, especially if all adults.

Outside, a beautifully maintained garden wraps around the cottage. With a lawn, dry stone walling, stone patio, raised beds and small trees, this is a calm and colourful space for enjoying al fresco lunches and peaceful afternoons.

Please note there is a refundable £200 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

Just returned from an amazing weekend at Town End cottage. A very well equipped cottage in a great location for Cartmel and the surrounding area. Very clean, great space and beautiful garden. Sadly the grass has been replaced with gravel but the garden is well tended with lots of seating for alfresco chilling/dining. Was sad to leave! Highly recommRead moreend and would love to return. Dirtiest accommodation we have ever stayed in. Property location was fantastic. External property kerb appeal was fantastic. Once inside, was a different story. Disgustingly dirty. Used toilet paper in WC. Hairs in bath, Rubbish under the bed. Burnt toast in toaster & the list goes on. Owner, whilst pleasant in his text messages (to advise us thereRead more was no external bin - we were greeted with an attacked plastic bag of rubbish on arrival) We have stayed in 12 properties in Cartmel before Hide

Great space and beautiful cottage located facing the pig and whistle. Versatile space with having the room above the garage. This is the second time we have visited and will come back again

Fantastic outdoor space, separate annex was a real bonus. Beautifully presented character cottage in the centre of Cartmel.

We found the accommodation was cramped for 8 and equipment inadequate eg only 6 dining chairs, only 1 pillow per person on some beds, settee space not adequate for 8. Only 1 set of keys which compromised fire escape. Poor water pressure in bathroom shower. Good location though with access to village amenities.

Great location - short walk into the village with a small pub opposite. Comfortably appointed and plenty of space. If going in the winter make sure that the owner allows full access to the heating system as the hours were limited when we stayed. Even in October it can get very cold at night!

Lovely cottage, just a short walk from main village centre. It was very well equipped, including a new Rangemaster cooker. Cottage and annexe studio bedroom beautifully decorated. Great security being able to get 2 big cars off the road.
