This stunning 19th century former chapel oozes quality and is set within 8 acres of grounds providing magnificent views over the Tamar Valley, a wonderful place to escape and enjoy country living in style.

Perfectly positioned for exploring both Devon and Cornwall, this historic converted chapel set in the peaceful hamlet of Letchley offers spacious accommodation for a memorable getaway. Sleeping up to eight guests across four bathrooms, families and friends can enjoy garden games on the large expanse of lawn or let off steam in the garage games room. The historic town of Gunnislake (2.5 miles) has a choice of independent stores and pubs serving local ales. Catch the train to Plymouth for a day exploring the historic Hoe, visiting Britain’s largest aquarium or dining in one of the fashionable bistros in the Barbican.

Enter through the large oak doors, leave coats and outdoor shoes in the handy boot room, pausing to ring the original chapel bell to mark your arrival. The warm and welcoming kitchen/diner with warming wood burner and exposed beams is a sociable space to prepare meals together and linger over supper at the large wooden table. Take the granite stone steps to the first floor where you will find the large and inviting lounge with arched chapel windows and exposed beams. Sink into one of the plump sofas for a relaxed evening in front of the TV. A few steps lead to the cosy snug with wood burner. When it’s time for bed there are four individually designed bedrooms to choose from arranged over the first and second floors. On the first floor are a comfortable king-size bedroom and a twin room. Climb the beautiful oak staircase where there is a bunk bedroom ideal for younger guests, and a stunning four-poster king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room. There is also a family bathroom. Outside, enjoy a BBQ on the patio or picnic on the lawn. There’s a multi-function games table in the garage along with seating and a drinks fridge. Stretch your legs in the 8 acres of grounds surrounding the chapel. Parking is available for four cars.

Thimble hall is a beautifully renovated chapel in a spectacular setting, that offers 4 bedrooms with comfortable beds, a spacious and well equipped kitchen and 4 bathrooms. Cell phone service for our phones was very spotty to non existent. We loved the birds, cows and alpacas that were our neighbors. Hide

The property is fabulous and Simon, the host, was very helpful. The location enabled a wider exploration of the Tamar Valley and the North of Cornwall. A great holiday. Although the proprty was large, it always felt warm. A signal for calls or text was patchy but the wi-fi was excellent to contact our family. The stone spiral staircase from the kitRead morechen to the lounge only allowed one person at a time but also had good iron hand rails to hold as you use them. We hope to return soon. Hide

This is the best holiday home we have stayed in by far. The owners are very friendly and the views amazing. The house itself provides lots of room for the family to spread out and have great family time in the games room on an evening. We will be back.
