A traditional period property with many retained original features, perfect for families and friends seeking a comfortable base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Immerse yourself in the unspoilt countryside of the Brecon Beacons from the vantage point of Llanfrynach, a tranquil village untouched by the main road, train and canal routes. This inviting cottage offers sleeping and socialising spots for up to eight guests and is set at the heart of the village, offering a plethora of exciting walks from the doorstep. Discover the scenery as you wander along the River Usk, or hop in the car and venture to Llangorse Lake to try your hand at sailing, fishing or paddleboarding. A roaring fire will greet you on your return, so grab a mug of hot chocolate and settle down to relax with your loved ones.

A traditional stone exterior gives way to a spacious and comfortable retreat that’s perfect for family gatherings or simply catching up with old friends. Make dinner time the focal point of the day and serve up a treat in the contemporary-style kitchen, heading up the steps to the dining room to feast together by candlelight. Help yourself to the selection of board games or step through the exposed stone archway to the delightful sitting room ready to snuggle up by the wood burner. Refresh yourself in the elegant shower room or climb the stairs to the first floor to find a tempting bathroom with a corner bath for pamper evenings. There are four tastefully decorated bedrooms to choose from, all featuring sloping wooden ceilings and lots of character, especially the handy family room with its king-size bed and a separate single bed. There’s even a cosy reading nook on the landing for you to hide away and catch a moment of peace. Outside, the courtyard garden is a serene position to put your feet up with your morning coffee, and off-road parking is available for two cars.

We were a party of 7 mature ladies and the cottage was everything we hoped it would be. It was in a lovely location in a small village in the Brecon Beacons National Park. It was very clean, spacious and very comfortable with all the necessary equipment provided to make a self-catering holiday a great success. It is definitely one of the best holidRead moreay cottages we have stayed in and we would highly recommend it to anyone looking to book a holiday property in the area. Hide

The cottage is bit of a mixed bag. Good points - very spacious, lovely outdoor courtyard which is a bit of a sun trap, good bathroom upstairs, comfy beds, well equipped kitchen. Need improvement - downstairs shower has door missing & has been replaced with shower curtain which isn't ideal, cleanliness generally needs improving - cobwebs in lots of Read moreplaces and don't look under/behind anything as it may not be very pleasant what you find!
