Stay in a wing of this striking country house, with daily access included to spectacular Himalayan gardens, a shared pool and a tennis court. A truly unique choice and ideal for a relaxing break.

Many visitors head to the historic village of Minterne Magna to explore the stunning Minterne Gardens, which host a wide range of flowering plants and are set in a beautiful Himalayan valley, surrounded by verdant countryside. In the spring, daffodils, bluebells, primulas, and ornamental cherries bloom under the canopy of trees, and the gardens are also home to a notable collection of rhododendrons. The nearby village of Cerne Abbas (2.5 miles) has local amenities as well as a famous giant carved into the hillside. Within 10 miles is the county town of Dorchester, which has a traditional high street, cinemas and museums, and pretty Sherborne where there are two castles, a striking abbey and many boutique shops and eateries.

Set within a wing of the impressive Minterne House, a shared entrance hallway gives access to the stairs which lead to the private door of this first-floor apartment. Once inside, you are met with a second staircase that rises to a spacious hallway, with all the rooms leading from it. There is a spacious kitchen equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and freezer, plus space to dine. The sitting room offers relaxed seating beside the open fire, a Smart TV and DVD with a selection of films, as well as a record player and Amazon Alexa to dance along to. There are four bedrooms to choose from, three of which are super-king-size zip-and-links (which can be that can be arranged as 2’6” twin beds on request), and the fourth is a twin zip-and-link (which can be arranged as a super-king-size on request). There is a Jack and Jill bathroom with bath and WC, and a spacious shower room with shower and WC. Within the shower room is a useful utility cupboard with a washer/dryer.

Although there is no dedicated outside space for the apartment, guests have free daily access to the surrounding Minterne Gardens between 10am and 6pm. You can also enjoy shared access to a lawn tennis court (rackets and balls supplied) and outdoor heated pool (please bring pool towels), with changing room, from April to October – 10am to 12noon and 4pm to 6pm daily. The property will have a designated 2-hour slot each day (varying times) for the pool, with sole use of the pool - times will be displayed in the apartment on arrival. Off road parking for four cars is available in a shared area, adjacent to the property.
