Situated in the heart of Middleham on the market square, this Grade II listed Georgian townhouse is the perfect choice for large families and groups of friends looking to explore the beauty of the Dales.

This 18th-century cottage holds as much history as the town it sits in. Once famous as the home of the dastardly Richard III, Middleham is one of the most picturesque and historically rich spots in North Yorkshire. Sleeping up to eight guests across four airy bedrooms, this property is located just 1.5 miles from the Yorkshire Dales National Park and 19 miles from the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), so guests can explore some of the country's most spectacular scenery with ease. And with a football table and a library of books on offer, there's plenty to keep guests of all ages entertained.

Bursting with original Georgian features, this three-storey townhouse offers an enticing mix of contemporary style and rustic charm. And with a lovely blend of communal spaces and intimate hideaways, it's a great choice for families. Step into the welcoming lobby and through to the generous lounge. With oak floorboards, an original bay window plus an inglenook fireplace, it's a wonderfully homely space to relax and unwind in after a day of exploring the Dales. Or why not gather together and enjoy a movie night on the top floor? With a beautiful L-shaped sofa plus a Smart TV, there's nowhere better to lose yourself in a blockbuster. Or if you're in the mood for a game's night, dive into the collection of board games and challenge each other to some table football. When it comes to feeding the troops, the modern kitchen is well-stocked for whipping up a homecooked meal. Tuck in around the stylish farmhouse dining table and enjoy the warmth of a second inglenook fireplace. Then retire to one of four flexible bedrooms. Offering space for a variety of guests, three of these rooms boast en-suite shower rooms while the fourth offers great views over the garden. An extra bathroom and WC ensure you'll never be left waiting. Outside, step down into the quaint patio area and enjoy a glass of wine in the sun.

Lovely house and very comfortable, Middleham was a great base with lots of walks, the racing stables and good pubs, we ate in the Richard III and had fish and chips one evening. Gave up on trying to book the Tack Room they clear to not need any customer or deserve them.

The cottage is ideally located just off the picturesque square in Middleham, close to the local amenities, although this means there is a limited outdoor area and no garden attached to the property. The property is well appointed and accommodated a party of 6 comfortably. All bedrooms have en suite facilities ( albeit on the small side due to the nRead moreature of the building ) except for one which has a private bathroom. Hide

A lovely, well appointed house in a great location. In particular the kitchen was better equipped than most holiday houses we have stayed in. The village is picturesque with good amenities - a decent local store, 3 pubs - we particularly enjoyed sitting outside the Richard III (good food too), a high quality restaurant in the Tack Room, and an imprRead moreessive castle ruin - all within a short walk. Parking was always easy. Lots of great walking within a stones throw. All in all a wonderful week away Hide

We had a wonderful week at Pear Tree House. The cottage is superbly appointed and was spotlessly clean and immaculately decorated. Thankfully the weather gods smiled on us and the fact that the wi fi was down was not a problem - we simply conversed more which is no bad thing. The Addisons
