A fantastic holiday home in the Tay Valley, surrounded by rugged countryside. It makes a wonderful base for active, sociable holidays and family gatherings.

For larger families or groups of friends seeking a rural holiday in the Perthshire countryside, these two historic properties offer comfortable accommodation where you can spend time together and also enjoy individual space. With seven bedrooms split across the two cottages, up to 14 guests can be accommodated for a holiday indulging in the many country pursuits on offer in the area. After a day spent fly-fishing on the River Tay at one of the houses’ two beats (available by prior arrangement at an additional cost) or walking the Perthshire hills, congregate around the open fire in the main house to share highlights of your day over a wee dram or two. Share tasty meals and sparkling conversation in the elegant dining room, chatting late into the evening. If you are not fishing then there is plenty to do in the area, from lovely walks in the surrounding hills to kayaking down the River Tay. The bustling town of Aberfeldy is 3.5 miles away with independent stores, galleries and welcoming pubs and restaurants.

Comprising two detached buildings, your holiday home offers flexible accommodation with luxurious interiors and sumptuous soft furnishings. The larger of the properties is a beautiful Georgian building with large, bright rooms and glorious views over the Perthshire countryside. Polished floorboards gleam throughout the ground floor and walls decorated in rich tones all create a sense of warmth and indulgence throughout. Tartan accents and antique paintings adorn the main sitting room, a lovely space to unwind in front of the roaring open fire and feel the stresses and strains of modern life disappear. Relax in the warmth of the woodburner in the second sitting room/dining room where you can sit and engage in quiet conversation or gather together around the elegant dining table for leisurely meals. Share hearty breakfasts in the light and airy kitchen/breakfast room where you can plan your day over a coffee. For your convenience, there is a utility room and a drying room for outdoor clothing. Take the curving staircase to the first floor where five restful bedrooms await. Three super king-size bedrooms benefit from en-suite facilities, two enjoying en-suite shower rooms and the third having an en-suite bathroom with separate shower. A generous twin bedroom and cosy double bedroom share the use of the spacious bathroom. Venturing outside, dine alfresco in the mature garden enjoying views over the Tay Valley or light the BBQ for a relaxed evening meal. Heading across and up the steps to the smaller cottage, you will find the accommodation all on one level with double-height ceilings and a large open fire. With two twin bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms and a large open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner/games room this is the perfect spot for celebrations and ceilidhs. There is a separate bathroom off the main living space. Outside is a private patio, perfect for evening drinks. Together these two properties offer flexible accommodation in a lovely location.

A great location, surrounded by beautiful scenery. The Old Manse is spacious and has a well equipped kitchen. The Steading has comfortable beds, but the bedrooms are at either side of the building with only outdoor lockable entrances. There are good walks nearby eg along the river.

We had a great week at The Manse. Both the main house and The Steading were very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Beds were comfy and the showers excellent! Wonderful views from both properties. Brilliant location for the mountains and local towns/villages.

The Old Manse and Steading were perfect for our extended family group for Christmas. The kitchen was so well equipped for catering for the large group. The only (very small) thing that could be improved were the bellows for the fire in the sitting room which didn't work at all. Luckily one of our guests brought theirs from home when we realised theRead morey didn't work. As I say, the house was absolutely perfect for us but I thought it would be helpful for you to know about the bellows. Hide
