This lovingly converted 19th century barley mill, with original wheel, is the perfect location to enjoy a wonderful holiday. Its many unique features, are cleverly matched with contemporary touches to give a relaxed, comfortable and spacious experience.

Up to 12 guests can enjoy its generous accommodation and lovely combination of bright, contemporary space and exposed stonework, original timbers and even iron mill parts. Savour the comfort of the five-bedroom home near Carron, in Moray, which also offers access to excellent walking, salmon fishing and an array of malt whisky distilleries.

Your former barley mill, with its eye-catching exterior, is a masterpiece of creative conversion. Featuring exquisite ash flooring, a beautiful open-tread staircase and a fascinating collection of artworks, it is a joy to spend time in. Enter via the porch and long hallway to find your lounge, complete with a millstone and grinding wheel, has two seating areas to spread yourselves out between. Light the fire in here, then watch TV or choose a book, game or CD from the property’s collection. Take a few steps up into your exceptional farmhouse kitchen, where there is an electric range cooker, in which to make sizzling Sunday roasts, and access through into the bright conservatory, where friends and family can dine together. Find a WC also at ground-floor level, together with a handy utility room for storing your outdoor gear. Climb the open-tread staircase up to the first floor and enter two of your bedrooms, one with an en-suite bathroom and the other with an en-suite shower room. Head up to the next floor to find a stunning bedroom, with vaulted ceiling and generous en-suite bathroom, as well as an en-suite twin bedroom and small office, then venture up yet another level to an enticing attic bedroom with single bed, 2 trundle beds and shared bathroom.

The mill is in a superb location for exploring the many delights of Speyside and the Scottish Highlands, whether you're keen to enjoy the great outdoors or simply relax at a slower pace. Just 1 mile from the mill is the pretty village of Archiestown, which has a small post office and a hotel serving food. Six miles takes you to the picturesque small town of Aberlour with its excellent range of shops and eateries. For walkers the hugely popular Speyside Way, runs right through Aberlour and c an also be joined not far from the Mill. There are many other walks and cycle tracks to discover, both in Cairngorms, along with Moray Coast, where dolphins are frequently spotted, and the famous Rivers of the Spey and Findhorn. All are home to a wide variety of wildlife and flora, some very rare. There are numerous other activities such as sailing, riding and kayaking in the area. Rhynagarrie is also ideally placed for the many golf courses locally which range from the rurally challenging to some of the top championship courses in the country. Speyside is home to over 50 working malt whisky distilleries including The Macallan, Aberlour, Cardhu and Glen Grant open for tours. The Speyside Malt Whisky Trails gives details and there are good local tour operators who provide transport. History and heritage are in abundance in Moray with castles such as Ballindalloch, Brodie and Cawdor, and the beautifully restored historic woollen mill at Knockando.

This was a perfect house for three generation of my family (4 years to 66 years) - and we all had a wonderful time. The house was immaculate, extremely well equipped, very warm despite the outside temperature and the bedrooms and en suites were perfect. This is a particularly well appointed cottage very well equipped and warm and comfortable.The bedrooms,all with on suites provides exceptional accommodation for an extended family or mixed group. Ideally situated for the speyside way and distilleries .

This is a lovely home with loads of space and had everything that we needed. It was clean and well maintained in a beautiful setting. The location was great for whiskey touring. We had a delightful week.
