Set in 2 acres of private grounds, and accommodating up to 22 guests across eight bedrooms, this wonderful converted barn in Suffolk is perfect for large get-togethers in the countryside. The Grade II listed barn is rich with original features dating back to the 16th century and is located near East Anglia's most popular destinations. The property also has easy access to London, spoiling guests for choice with activities.

 

Inside is a spacious first lounge with vaulted ceilings, where you can sink into large comfortable sofas, warmed by an inglenook fireplace housing a cosy wood burner. French doors overlook the pretty grounds outside, flooding the room with light. Enjoy an elegant group meal in the dining room, which features wooden floors, long table and more French doors providing a stylish backdrop for celebrating. The well-equipped kitchen features wooden worktops, electric range oven and plenty of seating where guests can catch up over morning coffee. A handy utility room also has extra fridge/freezer space so you can stock up for a big reunion. Four bedrooms on the ground floor suit a wide range of needs, with two doubles, one twin and one large room with three single beds, perfect for children's sleepovers. Choose from en-suite shower rooms, a separate shower room, and a bathroom where after a day's exploring, you can sink into a luxurious roll top bath. Up a spiral staircase are a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC, and a king-size with an additional single bed. A second staircase to this floor yields a stunning, exposed beam galleried area with double bed resting in the eaves of the barn. A double room with four-poster double bed with en-suite shower room completes the property. Outside, relax on the decking in a private hot tub underneath the canopy in any weather. Ample outside seating and a BBQ provide an idyllic spot for relaxing in the sun or a spot of outdoor dining or drinks. Pretty, unfenced ponds add to the natural beauty of your surroundings.

To immerse yourself in local history, head 3 miles to nearby Stowmarket's Museum of East Anglian Life for a window into the agricultural and natural heritage of the area. Here you can also explore 75 acres of woodland and riverside nature trails. Further afield, 20 miles, is the historic market town of Bury St. Edmunds where you can explore the Cathedral Abbey grounds or traverse medieval streets and architecture and discover Britain's last remaining Regency theatre. Other places to explore are Ipswich (10 miles), Lavenham (15 miles) and Kersey (13.5 miles). For refreshing sea air and coastal walks, travel down Dunwich and Aldeburgh under 30 miles.

So much space to enjoy, we were able to spend quality time together as an extended family of 17 people, aged from 7 months to 78 years!

Really well presented and spacious property. Nice historic feel with mod cons. Plenty of facilities. Lovely outdoor areas. Nice owners with a warm welcome. The whole family thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Would recommend to anyone seeking accommodation for large groups!

We had a great stay at Doves barn, communication was excellent prior and during the stay. We were 11 adults and 10 kids. The house is huge, the kitchen is well equipped, nice sheets in the bedrooms. Our large group (12 adults, 3 infants) enjoyed the downstairs space in Dove Barn particularly. It was well equipped with glassware and crockery too so we weren't continually having to wash up. Plenty of interesting days out possible from this location.

We arrived on the 30th Sept for a long weekend with family, ages ranging between 3 to 78 and had an amazing time. There is so much space inside and outside.
