This beautiful property is self-contained wing of a large Grade I listed house situated on a 2000-acre working rural estate, perfect for a family or friends’ get together in a fabulous part of Wales

Once a former residence for servants of a grand estate, this historic property sleeps up to 14 guests across six bedrooms and is an enchanting setting for your big group holiday. A designated National Park, the surrounding Brecon Beacons is studded with castle ruins, market towns, impressive summits and spectacular countryside where you can enjoy adventure and escapism in equal measure. You’ll have plenty to discover on-site with shared gems such as a maze and Victorian rose gardens, and there are fly-fishing and tennis opportunities too.

Overlooking the waters of the River Usk, your spacious accommodation combines classic style with contemporary convenience and has some seriously impressive views to boot. Serve up tea and cake in the Victorian-style kitchen/diner and start planning your itinerary, factoring in lots of hearty meals crafted using seasonal vegetables from the estate gardens and locally sourced produce. A curved staircase leads to the lounge on the first floor, which will quickly become the hub of the home for family films and soothing nightcaps by the open fire. Each bedroom carries its own unique charm and all sharing a combination of bathrooms over the first and second floors. There are six bedrooms in total including two that have been converted from the original kitchen and sitting room on the first floor, and four cosy bedrooms on the second floor. The cherry on the cake has to be your fabulous outside space, where you’ll have shared use of a pretty courtyard with garden furniture and a BBQ for al fresco feasts. Work off your supper with a stroll around the estate, admiring the gardens and immaculately maintained shrubbery or making good use of the on-site facilities.

We had a wonderful break, the owners and people who lived on the Estate were so friendly and welcoming. The Farm Shop was fabulous and used daily. The river swimming was an added bonus along with the vast estate walks for exploring. Thank you to all for your great hospitality, our family loved every day of the holiday. We will absolutely be back.

Beautiful location and gorgeous, comfy accommodation. The grounds are just lovely and there are plenty of outdoor pursuits to enjoy here. Vina and Gavin were perfect hosts: welcoming, informative and charming. There is a farm shop on site selling locally produced apple juice, honey, jam, fruit and veg grown on the Estate and a freezer with meat ( hRead moreandy for the bbq!). Hide
