Sleeping ten people over four bedrooms and with an expansive garden, table tennis and dorm room that children will adore, this is the perfect base for a family gathering in the Dorset Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A charming, elegant interior offers plenty of cosy and sociable spaces for your group to get together after long days of adventure to share stories, celebrate a special occasion or plan more activities.

Recently renovated, this 15th-century monastic building has been restored to its former glory with homely county cottage interiors, comfortable furniture and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the shared drive and farmyard with parking for four cars, a private entrance door opens into a boot room with plenty of space for everyone’s coats and shoes. Head through to the open-plan kitchen/diner, a wonderfully sociable place with a flagstone floor and a beautiful handmade kitchen. In the inviting lounge, find an inglenook fireplace housing a warming wood burner and plenty of plush sofa seating for all. Also on the ground floor is a sumptuous king-size bedroom with its own en-suite shower room and there’s a handy utility room too. Climb the wooden staircase from the lounge to the first of three upstairs bedrooms that children are sure to adore with its three single beds and mountain of bean bags. From here, access a triple room and another king-size room tucked romantically under the sloping eaves of the roof, so mind your head! Dine alfresco on a warm summer evening and make the most of the expansive garden’s three delightful picnic benches with plenty of space for a pre-dinner game of football or fetch with the hound. In an adjacent barn, a ping-pong table shared with the attached property is crying out for a group tournament.

In a very quiet location on a farm. We all loved the house, there were six adults and one baby, there was plenty of room. We had a curry delivered to us one evening, and was pleasantly surprised they came out down the country lanes.

We loved the cows and there was no trouble with any noise etc. We also loved the massive log burner which made the house lovely and warm. The space is large enough for a big group and the kitchen/diner is massive. The location is close enough to drive into Lyme or Charmouth. We had a lovely sauna on the beach in Seatown and loved our time here.

The Cheesehouse is a lovely place for a family holiday. Very well equipped cottage, the children enjoyed being on the farm although we only had the cows visit the actual farmyard once whilst the vet was doing his examinations. Great out door area for children to play safe and many bbq's to choose from. Plentiful parking. Bit of a late review because life has been so hectic. We had a lovely visit to The Cheese House in May. The location is lovely and the owners were really helpful. We didn't experience much in the way of farm noise so it was very peaceful, this could depend on time of year though. When we stayed the curtains let in a lot of light so the kids were upRead more early and although the mezzanine was a great space the noise from the living room meant the kids slept elsewhere, but we had a lovely holiday thanks.
