Get back to nature in this rural village location near Glastonbury, taking in lovely views of the countryside as you recharge your batteries in the fresh air. This former milling barn has been lovingly converted into a stylish four-bedroom holiday home using oak construction sourced from the owner’s woodland. It’s perfect for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as country walks, birdwatching and cycling. The barn is situated in the grounds of the owner’s property, but rest assured you’ll have all the privacy you need. And there’s plenty to keep you entertained if you don’t want to venture too far. The enclosed play paddock has outdoor games for all the family to enjoy, from giant Jenga to swing ball, and you’ll also have the opportunity to have a go at clay pigeon shooting (weather permitting!)

The property has a contemporary finish, with sleek hard flooring and chic styling throughout. At its heart is the spacious open-plan living space. Its communal areas make it easy to spend quality time with your loved ones. The large windows and French doors fill the room with light, while the vaulted ceilings add an extra sense of space. Cooking in the shaker-style kitchen is made all the more pleasant by the views of the garden and surrounding countryside. There is ample space around the dining table to enjoy leisurely meals or board games, while the lounge area is great for family movie nights or chatting about your day. If you fancy eating out, stroll to the local pub just a few metres away. The four spacious bedrooms are evenly split over two floors, so you never feel cramped, while outside the large open lawn and rose garden give you a real sense of freedom. On a warm evening, bring the patio area to life with al fresco dining.

We received a very warm welcome from our host Mary. The barn was spotlessly clean and warm throughout. The location is great for walking and birdwatching, even directly from the barn itself. This was our second stay at the barn and we expect to return again in the future.

Beautifully clean and very comfortable, spacious barn conversion. Plenty of room outside as well with well-kept lawns and large play areas for children. Fine views from the back over farmland and low hills. We were also lucky to have one amazing dawn to wake up to.
