The market town of Newtown (3.5 miles) sits on the banks of the River Severn offering wonderful walking opportunities along the riverbank. The Montgomery Canal leads from Newtown and the wide towpath is ideally suited for walking and cycling trips with the whole family.

Step through the front door of this beautiful barn conversion and into the spacious entrance hallway. The light and airy kitchen/diner is a sociable space to cook meals together and linger over evening suppers at the large dining table. Gather together in the comfortable living room to relax in the warmth of the wood burner or watch a film on the TV. Head down to the basement games room for a game of table football before bed. We had an incredible stay at The Gatehouse last week. Kingsley and Wolfgang were outstanding hosts and their hospitality, combined with the wonderful, almost fairytale grounds and beautiful cottage were outstanding. The Gatehouse is a lovely cottage set in the owners stunning gardens. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. Location is beautiful, very peaceful but within easy reach of shops, local pub and a variety of sights to see.

A haven to rejuvenate and relax. A wonderfully quiet location for our gathering of sisters and husbands. This was the best ever holiday. Owners are very friendly and helpful. No requirement to go out to find things to see. Everything is in the 20 acre land. Beautiful well maintained garden with full of flowers (some are never seen before) ,Art Gallery, Walking paths, moss garden etc.

We had a small family birthday get-together over the August bank holiday weekend. We expected the setting to be rural and peaceful, and it was, but what we did not expect were the magical surroundings. Its difficult to adequately express just how wonderful our holiday was. The cottage itself was everything I had expected from the photos and the setting, within the most beautiful Welsh valley, really was paradise. Excellent location, the owners gardens and surroundings woods are perfect for walks with children of all ages. If the weather allows you can enjoy eating outside from morning to night with perfect views. Very good for three generation holidays as the one bedroom apartment affords some privacy for grandparents.
