The traditional Victorian seaside town of Swanage is known for its beautiful sandy beach, promenade and pier. The town centre is home to a great selection of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés as well as activities for all the family including pedaloes for hire and crazy golf. From here you can easily tour the beautiful Purbeck Hills or head 5.5 miles to the west and explore the old quarry at Winspit. The popular sites of Kimmeridge, Old Harry Rocks, and Lulworth Cove are also within reach. A chain ferry runs from nearby Studland across to Bournemouth and Poole, where you can indulge in some retail therapy, or simply relax on the unspoilt beach, which is backed by sand dunes and a nature reserve.

A step leads up to the front door into this end of terrace property. Once inside you are met with a welcoming hallway complete with feature flooring. Immediately to the right is a beautiful lounge with open fireplace, bay window and Smart TV. Heading further down the hallway you will find two steps, which lead into the stunning kitchen/diner. This inviting room has a gas range style oven with electric oven, dishwasher, fridge with ice compartment and washing machine. A door leads from here into a useful sun room, which is home to a further fridge/freezer. A useful separate WC also leads off of the dining area. Taking the stairs to the first floor you will come to a landing, giving access to a pretty twin bedroom and a contemporary shower room with WC next door. Just opposite is a double bedroom and a further imposing double bedroom, with beautiful bay window where you can catch a glimpse of the sea. Taking the stairs to the second floor you will find two charming single bedrooms set into the eaves and a stylish contemporary bathroom complete with freestanding bath, separate shower and WC. Due to the setting within the eaves, all rooms on the second floor have some areas of restricted head height. All of the bedrooms boast lovely decorative fireplaces.

Heading into the courtyard garden from the kitchen you can enjoy the raised deck with table and chairs and admire the distant sea views across the rooftops. There is roadside parking opposite the property and in the surrounding streets (subject to availability).

Swanage is the most easterly town on the Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site where budding fossil hunters can find myriad treasures. The town centre boasts an array of independent shops and eateries, along with traditional seaside fun from crazy golf to amusements, and a beautiful Victorian pier where you can go crabbing. Take a hike in the Purbeck Hills (9 miles), or explore the Winspit quarry (5 miles). Hop on the ferry from Studland (3.5 miles) to Bournemouth and Poole where you’ll see marine wildlife, seabirds, and pristine beaches. Discover surf-loving Kimmeridge Bay (10 miles), sparkling Lulworth Cove (18.5 miles), and the iconic rock arch of Durdle Door (19 miles). Don’t miss the picture-postcard village of Corfe and the romantic ruins of Corfe Castle - the best views are from the National Trust tearoom terrace (5.5 miles).

Lovely family holiday in the house. Plenty of communal room - especially in the large sitting room. Beautifully presented and decorated with thoughtful homely touches provided: games, books, magazines and beach equipment. Large kitchen table great for family breakfasts and dinner. Kitchen was very well stocked we could whip up some lovely meals during our stay. The house was beautifully decorated and just a few minutes walk to the beach.

The house is as described, large, and comfortable and extrememly clean. Everything provided re kitchenware. Double oven a luxury when cooking for several adults. The house was perfect for exploring Swanage and the wider Jurassic Coast. The centre of Swanage and waterfront are a minute walk. All the bedrooms were a great size, light and comfortable. We found parking easy however note it could be difficult in peak season. We will definitely return on our next trip to Swanage.
