Property code: 77825

A wonderful detached Victorian house, with an array of beautiful period features, located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with spectacular views over Loch Etive and surrounding glens.

This countryside retreat offers blissful solitude. Roam your own mature, romantic gardens, which sit surrounded by uninterrupted views of Loch Etive and the hills that bank it. The house is a handsome Victorian property, full of inspiring period character, and cosy and spacious rooms. Step back in time and host a good old-fashioned family reunion, with chats around the dining table rather than slob-out sessions in front of the TV, and walks in the hills rather than dashes to the bus stop.

The house itself is a large, Victorian property, surrounded by spacious grounds, making it feel secluded and special. Inside, begin with the basics — a handy entrance vestibule and utility room, great for stowing and washing your muddy belongings after a day in the hills. Head to the heart of the home, the warm, restful lounge, complete with wood burner for cosier evenings together. The kitchen is another bright and welcoming space, with a family table so you can chill out while one of you cooks. Or, for a more formal occasion, take your meal through to the spacious dining room which is filled with light from the garden, perfect for long, leisurely, catch-up feasts. The bedrooms — four in total — sit up on the first floor. Each is dressed sumptuously, in an individual colour theme, and enjoys its own unique slant on the countryside views. Looking out over the garden in the morning will make you want to get straight out there. Explore the pretty nooks and crannies of these lovely grounds or sit at the picnic table for an al fresco coffee.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

The house sits in the charming village of Taynuilt, within the Scottish region of Argyll and Bute. The scenery is an invitation to walk, roam, cycle and hike. Set off on a trail around the foothills of the “hollow mountain” Ben Cruachan. A mile away, you’ll discover the heart of the village. Stop here for some local groceries or a pot of tea in the tearooms. Head on to the lochside Bonawe Iron Furnace, 2 miles away, where you can learn all about this historic practice. Venture into this wild landscape and you’ll come to a rugged shoreline. 13 miles away, you’ll find Oban, a charming seaside town. Here you can enjoy traditional coastal delights but with a Scottish twist. Visit the Oban Distillery or pick up some local stories at Dunollie Castle or McCaig’s Tower.

Everything exceeded expectations at Springbank. The owners have done a marvellous job making sure everything is comfortable, and a real home away from home. Never stayed anywhere so well equipped and laid out for ease of use. Even the days when the weather let us down it really was no hardship to stay at the house and relax. We would certainly bookRead more again if we coming back to the area. Hide

An excellent and spacious cottage completely fitted out with everything you could wish for. About a 20 minute stroll outside of Taynault and a 20 minute drive from Oban with panoramic views towards Loch Etive. Parking for three cars on the drive. Peaceful and quiet.

The home proved ideal for our family staycation in the West of Scotland. The home is well appointed, spotlessly clean and obviously well looked after. Could recommend this home to anyone wanting a safe secure holiday in these difficult times.

Very nice spacious cottage with a great view over Taynuilt. The area is very quiet, and the large garden was great to sit out in and enjoy. Springbank was very clean, and had all the cooking/cleaning equipment which we needed during our stay. Additionally, lunge with fire was very comfortable. Hope to be back one day!
