Explore beautiful Pembrokeshire with a stay off the beaten path by settling into this wonderful family home in the village of Lamphey.

Discover the dramatic Pembrokeshire countryside from the vantage point of this cosy suburban property that sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms. Located on the cusp of Lamphey just 2 miles from historic Pembroke, you are excellently placed for exploring castles, chocolate-box villages and the spectacular coast. When your day of adventures draws to a close, your accommodation boasts a vast garden - perfect for garden games and al fresco meals. Younger visitors will love the sleepover-vibe of the quirky attic bedroom, and once they are tucked up in bed you can relax in the spacious, walled garden with a glass of wine.

Inside, the open-plan lounge/diner is bright and inviting with ample space for watching films and playing board games. Light the wood burner and sip hot chocolate topped with lashings of marshmallows on chilly nights, and on warmer evenings the patio doors can be opened to let the outside in. You’ll have everything to hand when it comes to mealtimes, so show off your culinary skills in the simple yet well-equipped kitchen and dine together around the extendable table in the dining area. Three of the bedrooms are easily accessed on the ground floor, as is the family bathroom with its shower over the bath for long soaks. One of the double bedrooms is equipped with a handy en-suite for an extra treat. Upstairs, the attic bedroom has a unique pentagon cross section, with sloped panelled ceilings and two single beds ideal for children, just beware of reduced head height! Completing the property is a large garden, safely enclosed for children and canines to frolic together.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

A short 2-mile drive will bring you into the centre of Pembroke, a magnificent town brimming with history. Once a medieval fortified town, the walls surrounding the town and castle are still intact, complete with defensive towers. The streets are lined with shops and eateries for your amusement, and there is a rolling calendar of annual events guaranteed to please your entire party. Further afield, Manorbier Castle (4 miles) is an impressive site to explore and has access to the iconic Pembrokeshire Coast Path. No visit is complete without a trip to Tenby, a beloved seaside town that is best known for its multiple beaches, pretty harbour and narrow streets studded with restaurants, bistros and boutiques. It is well worth the 9-mile drive, especially if you factor in a sea safari or a boat trip to monastic Caldey Island. The island is home to an order of Cistercian monks who handcraft delicious chocolate and produce perfume, which you can pick up as souvenirs.

Great location for Pembrokeshire coast and Freshwater Beach is beautiful. Lounge area could do with a bit of an up date but cottage is good and we enjoyed our holiday.

The bungalow is in a great location for visiting Pembrokeshire. The village is small and its worth noting that during our stay the local pub was not open Monday to Wednesday. There is a hotel by the church but the service is poor. Great place for staying with kids. Beaches, castles, great towns close by as is the Pembrokeshire coastal path.

There are many plus points to this bungalow - its well equipped, great location for beaches, lovely garden space, light and airy. The pub is good for food and the garage shop is close and well stocked.

This is a lovely cottage in a very quiet area with lovely walks, really well situated for getting to so many wonderful beaches. We thought it was great value for money. We didn't want to pay the earth and just wanted basic facilities which is what we got. The double bed was particularly comfortable!

The property needed a proper clean, as there were dust balls in quite a lot of places. Also, the DVD player didnt work. The sofa was very uncomfortable. Lastly there were no oven gloves. I think with a bit more attention to details and improving on the above points that this cottage would be improved. As a holiday home it should be an improved expeRead morerience from your usual day to day home, however it didnt feel like this because of the above reasons. Hide

The place was very dusty. There was a lump of dust hanging from the living room radiator. The upstairs bedroom window was full off dead flies and spiders which fell on us when we opened the windows yuk. the en suite shower curtain was mouldy. There was dog poo from last visitor. The chairs in living room were very uncomfortable.
