Shieling Barn was perfect for our family. It was clean, well equipped and spacious. We loved the views from the conservatory and made the most of the local walks. The table tennis table was great fun! Finsthwaite was quiet and peaceful but there were many attractions just a short drive away. We went on a steam train, visited the aquarium, mooched aRead moreround the shops at Hawkshead. Saw a red squirrel at Allen Bank and hired a boat on Windermere. Beautiful location and a lovely property. Perfect for three generations. The walk to High Dam is quite an easy slow climb - our 2 year old granddaughter managed it. Its a short walk on the road to Lakeside where there is an aquarium and you can catch a boat to Bowness. A longer walk through the woods takes you back to the property. Church bells rinRead moreg every 15 minutes but its not an issue. There is extra parking at the church but be aware you may get blocked in by ramblers parking for the day. Hide
