From whisky distilleries to nature spotting, there's plenty to see and do in this vast area of the Highlands. Head to the coastal village of Kingston (6 miles) or the town of Lossiemouth (7 miles) for a trip to the beach. Visit historic locations of Spynie Palace or Duffus Castle, all within 9 miles, or enjoy some culture with a trip to Elgin Cathedral (3.5 miles). Keen golfers will no doubt be drawn to the three golf clubs within 5 miles of the house, and the Malt whisky Trail offers plenty of whisky hotspots within 7 miles. For a day out like no other head to Spey Bay (10 miles) to view dolphins in the ocean.

On entering the property you'll find a bright and spacious hallway with a spacious staircase leading up to the first floor. Head straight through into the calming living room, where comfy sofas face a SmartTV with DVD player and a wood burner flickers away. The kitchen is a modern space with fridge/freezer, electric oven, microwave and dishwasher, along with a casual breakfast table for a relaxed brunch. Enjoy evening meals in the stylish dining room where plush grey seats offer space to relax together. A day out for all the family can be enjoyed at nearby Lossiemouth, accessible within 7 miles of the home. This seaside town is often referred to as ‘the jewel of the Moray Firth' and offers miles of golden beaches, lined by sand dunes. Keen golfers can happily while away an afternoon at the local golf course, and the beach is a popular spot for surfing. The Moray coast is well known for its dolphin population and Lossiemouth offers boat rides for both dolphin viewing and sea fishing. Similarly, local Spey Bay (7 miles) is an extremely popular spot for dolphin watching.

The local town of Elgin can be found just 3 miles from home and offers plenty in way of activities. Check out the ruins of Elgin Cathedral or tour one of Britain's oldest museums, in action since 1843. The town also boasts a handful of local pubs and restaurants for family-friendly dining.

Elgin lies on the world-famous Malt Whisky Trail, and lovers of Scotch should be sure to organise a tour and tasting before heading home. With an impressive eight distilleries accessible in a 6-mile radius of the property, your friends will no doubt look forward to receiving a bottle of Scotland's finest export as a souvenir.

Scotstonhill Farmhouse is a real home from home - great location to explore the East Coast of Scotland. The house itself has everything and more that you need to have the perfect self catering holiday - would highly recommend.

The farmhouse was beautiful and well equipped. On arrival there was a welcome pack which was a lovely gesture. The neighbours were very thoughtful and brought over a set of goals for my little boy who played football with his uncle and grandpa each day in the garden. An absolutely fantastic property, pristinely clean and furnished to the highest standards with plenty of space for up to 8 guests. We were in Lossiemouth for a wedding and wanted a comfortable base for the bride , her sister and friends. The house was spacious and comfortable and very quiet. It was well equipped with everything we needed and a perfect place to entertain family and friends.
