Stroll along its western shores, soaking up the scenery, before finding a quiet spot for a family picnic and even a spot of wild swimming. After lunch, why not pop into The Lakes Distillery on the shores of Bassenthwaite? It’s a great place to visit as a group, as you can take a tour of the distillery and go to the tasting room to sample some of their fine whiskies, gins, and vodkas. The vibrant market town of Keswick is 2 miles away and is a hub for outdoor adventure. You’ll find a great selection of adventure companies, offering everything from ghyll scrambling to kayaking. The town also has an excellent choice of cafes and restaurants, as well as many independent shops and boutiques.

Lovely cozy cottage in a great location. Good for walks, ideal for Latrigg and Skiddaw and a short walk from Keswick. Beautiful seating area outside. Well equipped and okay cleanliness but could perhaps do a deep clean (eg cobwebs). Comfortably fit 6 people + dog, space for 8.

The cottage is in a nice location with some nice walks from the door. The interior is slightly tired but to be honest, Im happier with that than a pristine property where youre worried about touching anything! Id describe it as comfortable and is somewhere wed be happy to return to. Only criticism would be the lack of the promised fuel starter packRead more which meant we couldnt have a fire on our first night. Not really something that should be forgotten during the winter months. Hide
