It sleeps ten (plus two) in five stylish bedrooms, ensuring homely comfort for the whole party.

Hang your coats and muddy shoes in the boot room after a long countryside walk before retiring to the vast light and airy lounge/diner. A stunning stone fireplace with open fire makes the spacious room feel comfortable and cosy, while the contemporary decor is modern and welcoming. Challenge your friends and family to a game of pool, or head outside to the games barn to show off your table tennis skills. A step leads up to the kitchen, where you can prepare your evening meals or celebration dinner on the beautiful granite worktops before catching up around the large dining table. On warm evenings, enjoy your meal alfresco on the terrace or light up the brick BBQ as the children play in the large enclosed lawn area. Once the sun has set, curl up for a film night in the snug, which also makes an excellent children's den. Five light and airy bedrooms lead off from the first-floor gallery landing, some with low sloping ceilings and exposed oak beams, adding to the charm and character of this striking barn conversion. Wake up to views of the garden and beyond from the large picture window in the master king-size bedroom, where you can also sink into tranquillity in the freestanding bath, thoughtfully separated from the sleeping area by a low wall. From the family bedroom, which sleeps up to four, a door leads down to a further bedroom, which can be locked to ensure privacy. Enjoy the fantastic footpaths and bridleways from the front door, as well as rambles across nearby Dartmoor, which lies just the other side of the A30. Here you are also ideally placed between the sandy beaches and sheltered coves on the North and South Devon coastlines; visit Exmouth in the south or Westward Ho! in the north (both 32 miles). Visit the pretty villages of South Tawton (1 mile) and Sticklepath (2 miles), as well as popular Okehampton (6 miles) where you will find an array of shops, cafes and pubs. The vibrant city of Exeter is just 20.5 miles away.

We had a wonderful family holiday in an enormous house that had everything we needed. We couldn't fault anything, and the owners were very helpful. The house is set in a lovely quiet area and was wonderful for our dog.

A beautiful cottage. There is lots of space for a large group and the pool table and table tennis were great fun. The garden is a lovely place to sit on a sunny day. The kitchen is well equipped. We really enjoyed our stay.

We all really enjoyed our stay at this property. Massive living area, well equipped kitchen, lots of bathrooms and comfortable bedrooms all led to lovely stay. The open fire was amazing. You're not tremendously close to any large shops but with a little planning that wasn't an issue at all.

We had a fantastic week at Rock Barn, kitchen fully equipped. The main living room was very spacious allowing you all to be together or if you wanted a bit of quiet time the snug was great. All bedrooms are spacious and comfy beds. The pool table and table tennis were a great addition. We travelled with 2 dogs, the garden was a great size and securRead moree. There is a Co-op, Waitrose and Lidl 10 minutes drive in Okehampton. Just eat delivers here. Beach 45 minutes drive North. Would recommend. Hide
