The property itself is an attractive, detached cottage, with a flint facade showing off a traditional East Anglian building method. Inside, leave your beach things in the hall and head through to the beautiful lounge and dining room, combining hearty country style and heaps of light-filled space. Relax on the cosy sofas in front of the wood burner, in its quirky feature fireplace. Cook in the bright and sunny country kitchen and bring your meal through to the sociable dining space. The cottage sits in the peaceful, pretty village of Briston. Get to know your local pubs – there are several within a mile’s stroll of your door – or head for a wilder stroll along one of the footpaths or cycling trails that winds around the village. Many lovely seaside towns and villages extend along this curve of coastline. Try a visit to Cromer, 14.5 miles from your door, a quintessential English town with a long beach, pier, and seaside amusements. Beautifully kept golf courses and a grass tennis club are just some of the outdoor pursuits you can try while you’re here. Or head up the coast to the charming little town of Sheringham. It’s a local favourite for its shingle beach and adorable steam railway that runs from Sheringham to Holt. Holt itself is a unique place to visit. Just 3 miles from your door, it’s a quaint home for antique hunting and great local food.

Railway Cuttings is a lovely cottage. It is very clean, warm and well-equipped. We particularly enjoy the dog-friendly and secure garden. We love the village location with several local walks on the doorstep. It is a great base from which to explore north Norfolk and the coast. Thank you!

We had a lovely weekend stay here. Really spacious and all the bedrooms were lovely. If it had been nicer weather the garden was also beautiful. We were really close to the Thursford Christmas Spectacular and also not too far a drive from Cromer and the beach. We will be back.

The house was perfect for the 8 of us, beautiful garden, very well equipped kitchen and really well situated: Briston is so useful with its excellent shops, all at a walkable distance from the house. It was beautifully clean upon arrival, and we appreciated the welcome basket.

We are family of 3 generations & a dog visiting for 1 week. I found the property perfect for us. A lovely location with friendly neighbours offering advise on the best dogs walks locally. There is plenty going on in the local area whether you fancy a war museum, a zoo, a boat trip or anything in-between. A comfortable, spacious house in a really quiet location. Our dogs loved the large garden and it was great location for access to Holt and the coast.

We had such a magical Christmas at Railway Cuttings. It was decorated for the season and had everything we needed. It was warm and cosy and the beds were very comfortable. The garden was beautiful and the few was lovely. There was plenty of space for everyone including the dog. We had a lovely walk around the village which was beautifully lit up. The space and size of the cottage was very good and having two bathrooms and a toilet downstairs was very useful. The size of the dinning room along with the table and chairs was very good and made meal times very easy and comfortable.

The cottage was well furnished and extremely spacious. The garden was totally secure and perfect for a young, energetic Border Collie. Everywhere was clean and rooms interlinked well. A lovely cottage, very roomy and well equipped. It is an ideal location for touring the local area and was ideal for our family group of six (incl 2 small children) with lots of room for everyone to have their own space. Really well appointed, comfortable house in a lovely village with handy local shops, playing field and tennis courts. The house is beautifully quiet with a large, enclosed garden that backs onto open fields. There are great dog walks in the area and it is 15 minutes from Holt and easily accessible for the coast.

Stayed for a week with family and what can we say, superb accommodation. Very clean and well presented, perfect central location to explore North Norfolk and the most 100% enclosed garden for the dogs we have had. Very well stocked with all utensils you would need and would come back to stay here without a hestitation.

Railway Cuttings is a lovely, well maintained spacious house. The weather was fantastic the whole week we was there, so it only made our experience better. A well maintained kitchen meant we was able to cook every night without having to make do as the owners had thought of everything.
