Set off with a picnic in tow and explore pretty Bothel, stopping by the charming beck, picking up local Cumberland sausages or stopping off in a welcoming village pub. A short drive from this charming village leads to Cockermouth (7.5 miles), a fantastic place of interest that’s peppered with William Wordsworth’s history and literary talents. The town also gives way to the brink of the Lake District National Park (2 miles) and the ever-changing scenery of Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles). Take a calming stroll around the waters and lose yourselves in the mystical environment that is Dodd Wood (8 miles). Younger holidaymakers will be keen to try their hand at zip-wiring at Whinlatter Forest Park’s thrilling Go Ape centre (12.5 miles).

we had a great stay at this cottage the cottage was in a great location with stunning views the cottage its self was very well equipped with every thing we needed for our stay there was a fantastic welcome pack with treats for all the family even treats for our three dogs we would definitely stay at this cottage again

Our second visit to Parkview this year and we had another lovely holiday. Its a warm and cosy cottage which was great as the weather was inclement. Well equipped cottage with comfortable beds and not too far from the usual tourist places. We did take a trip to Barnard Castle which was further afield. Lovely northern town.

We would definitely stay again! We were made to feel incredibly welcome, the location is great, with the bus stop being directly outside. The accommodation is very comfortable, with everything you need plus more for your stay. There were no issues with dogs, in fact they were spoilt rotten! We loved our stay at Park View. The house is comfortable and very well presented with plenty of room for six people. Pamela thought of everything. 6 of us aged 10 to 76 plus our dog had a fabulous week at the cottage. Outstanding welcome pack including doggy treats. The cottage is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. There is nothing left to provide. The owners have thought of everything and more to ensure a comfortable relaxing stay. Pam and Ian could not have been more helpful and accomodating. The welcome pack was above and beyond any pack we have received before.

Had a fantastic weeks stay at Park View. Very comfortable and tastefully decorated. The welcome basket had local cheese Bryson baked goods and their own free range eggs. Lovely stay in Park View in Bothel. Great location as we love the less touristy North Lakes and, in particular, the town of Cockermouth. We had a lovely short break stay at Park View and our only complaint was that we weren't staying for longer!! The house is old and quirky and it's very warm, clean and comfortable. This is a lovely, comfortable and spacious cottage. We felt so relaxed during our stay. The location is close to the most beautiful Cumbrian sites. The owners are friendly and welcoming, and offered an amazing hamper on our arrival. Our kids enjoyed the big garden, spending time with the chickens, and hedgehog hunting at night. Wow! We had the best time at this lovely cottage it was warm & homely and the welcome packs left by Pam & Ian for their human guests and furry friends were amazing. Pam gave us a quick tour around the place when we arrived. Sadly we had to curtail our stay due to one of our dogs being poorly. Thanks Pam & Ian for a lovely stay

The old part of the house is stunning, but we spent most of the time in the sitting room overlooking the fabulous garden and Lakeland fells. The kitchen is very well stocked and the welcome pack was very thoughtful. Pam and Ian were very friendly and helpful. Loads of guides, books and games for the kids. Shame we couldnt have stayed longer

Park View was perfect for our family holiday. There were 8 of us, two couples and four teenage girls. The house is spacious, yet homely, and we found every single thing we needed was supplied.
