Sleeping 15 guests across eight bedrooms, this historic hunting lodge enjoys a rural setting on a working arable farm in Staffordshire. Hens, stags, and canine companions are warmly welcomed to this characterful retreat with The Staffordshire Way walk right on your doorstep. After a fun day of shopping and sporty activities, kick back and unwind in your handsome holiday home, or enjoy an evening out at one of the pubs in the village of Abbots Bromley (2.5 miles) which also has a village shop for essentials and a choice of eateries. For weekly shops and market town attractions, head to nearby Uttoxeter (7.5 miles). Ample off-road parking and bike storage is available for guests.

Step into this handsome lodge which has an air of grandeur and olde-worlde charm with country-style interiors. Admire the wood-panelled entrance hall and the opulent drawing room with its open fire – the perfect room for pre-dinner drinks, speeches, and storytelling. Recline on leather sofas in the living room and catch up in the heart of the home by the warming wood burner. Share recipes and take turns to prepare feasts together in the spacious farmhouse kitchen where fellow guests can see your culinary masterpiece come to life with the help of the electric range oven and hob and a variety of kitchen gadgets. Or hide away in the smaller kitchen at the back of the house where you can create a secret recipe to serve in the formal dining room. After your fun celebrations, you’ll find eight plush bedrooms upstairs with beautiful features from timber-beamed ceilings to countryside views, along with six bathrooms (including five en-suites). We loved Park Lodge for our family gathering. Bedrooms are lovely, very well equipped kitchen, several dishwashers - no washing up!. It is a super location for a get away from it all stay.

The cottage was very comfortable especially the beds which everyone said were great. Some areas looked a little jaded and could benefit from a a bit of a update but given the age and history of the building this was to be expected. Spacious house with lots of character, sadly let down for us by plumbing/water supply issues all week. Emma was very responsive & did her best to counter our difficulties but there clearly is an ongoing issue which needs to be fully resolved. We had a fabulous Christmas at park lodge, the property is stunning and very grand. The property was very warm & cosy- we loved the log fires. There was plenty of space for us to get together but also be able to do our own thing. The property is located in the middle of nowhere so you cant walk to a shop or a pub, but we didnt mind this. The only iRead moressue we had was that the WiFi did not work! And a few minor other issues. However overall we had a wonderful stay & a wonderful Christmas! Hide

We had a wonderful pre-Christmas Christmas at park lodge. 3 families coming together for a 3 night stay. The house is truly beautiful and is set in a wonderfully secluded spot with uninterrupted views over the countryside. Its also huge and it took us a while to stop taking wrong turns. The house was well appointed with everything we needed during Read moreour stay (including logs for the open fire) and the owner even stopped by to bring us some beer from the local brewery. Park Lodge was ideal for an early family Christmas and we loved the house and the settings. It catered for our age range of 15 to 87 plus 3 dogs perfectly, loads of character and space- we loved the Victorian building with all its character and backed by all well thought the mod cons (it has everything!). A gorgeous comfortable and homely feel to this beautiful lodge. Lovely location, we had 4 little ones with us and they loved the outside space and seeing the farm animals. Definitely will be back for another visit

We booked the house for my mum's belated 80th Birthday so the whole family could be together and we had a fantastic time, the house easily catered for the 12 of us, with room to spare and is a lovely old building, so great delight was had inventing lots of ghost stories for the children. The local area provided plenty of places for us to visit and Read moreenjoy some local homemade food. The house provided a great base to either sit and relax, or spend the day exploring the local area. Hide

Upstairs accommodation was spacious clean & flexible layout - easy to get lost! Downstairs living & dining rooms are quite dark. Disappointed with lack of attention to detail: The outside area - overgrown lawns & rubbish piled from previous week, dirty BBQ. Some basic kitchen equipment not provided & instructions on key location & WiFi were incorreRead morect.
