Traditional character and authentic style reveal themselves around every corner of this stunning 17th-century, Grade II-listed farmhouse in the Brecon Beacons. Sleeping eight people across four bedrooms and welcoming two dogs, this quirky property is the perfect accommodation option for large family gatherings or group getaways. Surrounded by peaceful, sheep-dotted, rolling hills, this farmhouse is the ideal accommodation choice for groups who want to make the very most of their time exploring the untamed beauty of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Radnor Forest and the River Wye Valley.

Step inside this historic property and you’ll find yourself in a welcoming boot room. Kick off your shoes and wander towards the heart of the home – the large family kitchen/diner. Cook up a feast for your party and host a dinner party around the large dining table in front of the wood burner-effect oil fire in the property’s original 17th-century fireplace. Alternatively, head out onto the property’s stone terrace to strike up the BBQ and dine alfresco. You can always make your way to the property’s terrace, which features lovely views over the surrounding hills, for a glass of something chilled after dinner. Later in the evening, make your way to the cosy main lounge and relax in front of the TV, or head up the stairs to the second lounge, which is ideal for late night splinter groups. At the end of the day there are four gorgeous bedrooms to choose from – one of which boasts glorious Jacobean beads and one of which has lovely Edwardian beds. In the morning, head up to the top garden and you’ll find a small pond, which is sure to delight any younger visitors in the group – just make sure there is an adult with them at all times.

The farmhouse sits on an elevated terrace around a farmyard. There is an unused barn adjacent to the house and a neighbour across the yard in the converted cow sheds.

There is another neighbour 500m down the lane. Both incredibly unobtrusive and knowledgeable of the local area.

This atmospheric tomb has been linked to King Arthur since before the 13th century. This is a lovely place to stay the farmhouse is homely and has some lovely quirky touches. It may be worth noting that that this property is part of a courtyard and the view from the main house is of another property which is not evident from the pictures. However, this is a great property which has some great walks on the doorstep.
