Warm and welcoming converted barn with original features, enjoying a rural hillside location. Situated on the north west edge of Peak District, within a mile of the main amenities at Whaley Bridge.

Set at the edge of the Peak District National Park, this superb property is the ideal hideaway for a bunch of friends to mark a special occasion in a cosy but spacious bolthole. With four bedrooms, a separate kitchen and dining room and a pretty shared patio area, there’s plenty of room for eight guests to find their own social space. Be sure to visit the quirky local pub (1 mile) that serves breakfast as well as popular cask ales and dinner for an easy day catching up with your pals.

Step inside and feel the warm welcome of the farmhouse-style accommodation where rich earthy tones paired with natural woods and a cool piano entice you up the stairs to the first floor. Head into the beautiful lounge that features an original stone wall and stunning views from the large windows; curl up on the sofas together with snacks and drinks around the TV watching your favourite film. First-floor double room that’s decorated in peaceful green hues, or feel at home in the twin room among exposed stone walls. Colourful mosaic tiles in the bathroom make for a relaxing shower after a long day out walking along the footpaths along the River Goyt (1.5 miles). Downstairs, the kitchen bright and airy is the place to be for chatting, snacking and of course cooking – rustle up a tasty meal together and enjoy the fruits of your labours at the wooden table, or sit at the dining table next door for a more formal meal. Wake up refreshed and ready to take on the day thanks to the tranquil king-size and twin rooms on this level; grab your morning coffee and soak up the morning’s rays on the shared patio, admiring the views and the pretty ornamental pond.

Great base for exploring the surrounding area. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. Hosts were great and freely gave up their time to show our children around the farm which was most appreciated. Thank you for a great stay.

Great cottage in a great, quiet location. The owner was friendly and it was a pleasure staying there for a few nights. Pub a short walk away and all the rooms were comfortable and clean. Just a shame the piano was unplayably out of tune.
