Surrounded by beautiful rolling countryside, the hamlet of Glanvilles Wootton is a great base for exploring all that rural Dorset has to offer. To the north is the historic town of Sherborne with its pretty honey coloured streets and imposing castle. Here you can while away an afternoon browsing the boutique shops or try out one of the popular cafes for afternoon tea. Heading south from the cottage you will find some of the county’s most popular attractions including the Cerne Abbas Giant and the county town of Dorchester. With a choice of great amenities on offer, including museums, two cinemas and a bustling high street - there is something here for all the family to enjoy.

From the driveway take the side entrance into this detached property. The door opens into a spacious hallway, which is the ideal spot to leave muddy boots after a stroll through the countryside. Immediately to the right is a useful separate WC. Heading further into the hallway you will find the well-equipped spacious kitchen/diner, which has an electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine. This light and bright room has space in which to dine, whilst looking out over the garden and the fields beyond. Heading back through the hallway will bring you to the lounge, which has a lovely cosy ambience as it has a wood burner, TV and DVD and charming character features. Just next door is the snug which also has a TV and DVD, making it the ideal spot to relax in front of a film after a day spent exploring. A flight of stairs leads from the hallway up to the first floor. There is a choice of pretty bedrooms here – including 2 king-size rooms, both with Smart TV’s and complete with en-suite shower and WC. There is also a twin bedroom which has a TV/DVD and a super-king-size zip-and-link bedroom with a Smart TV, both of these bedrooms share the bathroom, which has a shower over bath and WC.

Heading outside from the kitchen/diner you will find a fully enclosed garden with a patio, lawn and private hot tub to relax in. Garden furniture and a BBQ make this the perfect place to unwind with a drink or meal. To the side of the property is off-road parking space for two vehicles.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Idyllic retreat for a break away from it all but within easy reach of the coast and inland attractions by car. Loved star-gazing in the hot tub with all the lights out - we had a perfect week for weather so plenty of clear skies! Very welcoming at the Hunters Moon down the road too.

We had a lovely time of 8 people in this beautiful house! We had a shop delivery done in advance that the hosts very generously accepted. We came on a stormy weekend but the house was very well equipped to allow us to cook a feast and have a cosy night in.
