This property is situated in Appledore, a picture-postcard village situated on the confluence of the rivers Taw and Torridge. The village’s cobbled streets are wonderful to wander, perhaps stopping in at one of the pubs, tearooms, or restaurants. In the warmer months, a boat from the town’s quay runs across the River Torridge to the neighbouring village of Instow, with its beach, sand dunes, and yacht club. Just three miles from the property, the wide beach at Westward Ho! is a popular destination for families and even has a surf school should visitors want to have a go at surfing, or stand-up paddle boarding.

This handsome property is a stunning showcase of the owners’ wonderful eye for detail and impeccable sense of style. Entering the property, guests come to a hallway with attractive tiled flooring, off from which you will find the spacious kitchen with its AGA oven, electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher, whilst the washing machine and tumble dryer are located in a separate utility room. The dining room is also situated on the ground floor, which has a grand fireplace with a wood burner, which keeps the room lovely and warm, even in the winter months. A convenient WC is also found on the ground floor. Make use of the handy utility room which is a great for keeping bikes and surfboards safe.Taking the stairs to the split-level first floor, guests will find the stylish lounge, with its artfully chosen furnishings and decoration, feature fireplace, TV/DVD, and estuary views. Two of the property’s bedrooms are also located on the first floor, both of which are doubles, though one has a smaller-sized 4’ bed. This smaller room benefits from an en-suite shower and WC, and patio doors which lead out to the decked patio area. The bathroom on this floor offers a roll-top bath, separate shower, and WC. Two further bedrooms are located on the second floor, both of which have their own TV. The first of these is a large room with a king-size bed and an additional sofa-bed, whilst the other is a twin room. The twin bedroom can also be made up as a double upon request. The second-floor bathroom, like the first-floor one, has a roll-top bath, shower, and WC.

Outside, the first half of the garden is enclosed, with a lawned area and a sunny decked terrace which is accessed both via a set of external stairs and from one of the first-floor bedrooms. This area offers garden furniture, a BBQ and a private hot tub (please note the hot tub will be emptied between 10am-4pm on the Friday of each holiday ensure it is ready for the next guests). The garden area and utility room can be accessed via a passageway to the side of the property. To the front of the property, private parking is offered for two to three cars.

Centrally located so you can explore this historic fishing village, this property is ideal for a group discovering Appledore. A few doors down, you'll find the North Devon Maritime Museum, a popular Grade II Georgian house renovated into exhibition rooms setting out Devon's rich seafaring history. With a 320-meter walk into the centre of the village, you can wander the winding Dickensian streets, peppered with unique independent retailers, and pick up some local produce to take home with you. Naturally, you won't struggle to find a good seafood restaurant in this little cluster of streets, a great place for enjoying the fresh fish. No trip to Devon would be complete without a trip to the beach, and the beautiful Westward Ho! Beach can be found only 2.5 miles away. This golden sandy beach is immensely popular with swimmers and surfers alike, and you can find two surfing schools along the coast where you can rent boards or learn a new hobby. Got your own boards? Lovely large 3 storey house, everything you need is provided and of a high quality, would definitely stay here again, plenty of space for up to 8 people, great hot tub which was used everyday! Appledore is a lovely village, the house is in easy walking distance to a few pubs and restaurants. Only one convenience store, but all major supermarkets neRead morearby. Short drive to the local beach at westward ho, check tide times though as the beach is covered by high tide. We had a fantastic week here. Hide

Fantastic location just a short walk to the quay, shops and restaurants. Plenty of off-road parking a real bonus in Appledore which has very narrow streets. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished. Thank you for the welcome gift of cava which was a lovely touch.

A beautiful holiday home. Very well equipped, comfortable furnishings, beautifully decorated. Loved the proximity of the quay & estuary without being disturbed by noise. Fab that there was off street parking. Beautiful, nicely laid out garden & a wonderful outside space to eat & a hot tub as well!! Would highly recommend.

Lovely house with original features and plenty of space over three floors. Well equipped right down to a bucket and spade and crab nets. Plenty of plates, pots and pan etc and the hot tub was wonderful. The property managers were available on the end of the phone and friendly and responsive.

Well situated with parking for 3 cars. Great view from the master bedroom. Nice lounge although we didnt use it as dogs werent allowed in there even though it is a dog friendly house. Appledore is a lovely fishing village, beautiful, colourful cottages everywhere.

We had a really lovely stay here - as a party of 7 adults, 2 children and 2 dogs we felt comfortable in every way! Everything, from the garden to the furnishings is beautifully done and considering we were so close to the centre of town, the house is in an amazingly quiet spot. The house is huge and very beautiful, its very well appointed and very close to everything in town. The photos dont do the property justice, its stunning, as were the scones and clotted cream left for us upon arrival !

Great house in a perfect area with the hot tub making it 5 stars. The decor is top class, furniture is lovely with plenty of space for a large family all of which is perfectly cleaned.
