Enjoying panoramic sea views and an idyllic raised position on the south-west coast of Arran, this traditional cottage makes the perfect bolthole for large families or groups.

Escape the hustle bustle of the everyday and settle into the tranquil way of waterside living on the Isle of Arran. Wake to panoramic sea views before heading out for a round of golf or a seaside stroll. Make your way back home and watch the night roll in as the sun sets over the Mull of Kintyre, a spectacular scene to behold. Sleeping 10 guests across four bedrooms, gather together with a warming mug of tea in one of many communal spaces. Snuggle around the woodburner when skies are grey or lap up the warmth in one of two sun rooms where you can throw open the doors and windows to let a refreshing breeze flow inside.

Returning home to this bolthole from a day on the green or an adventure in the great outdoors could not be more welcoming. Brimming with character and charm this homely abode is dotted with artwork and trinkets to entertain your eye as you put your feet up and unwind in style. The roaring woodburner keeps the heart of the home cosy whilst the alluring bay windows let natural light flood inside whilst opening up the mesmerising views which lie beyond. When your eyes grow heavy climb the winding spiral staircase to the first floor where delightfully pleasant bedrooms await weary bodies and dreams of fun times with special people are encouraged. Rise and shine, pop the kettle on and take a cup of coffee outside onto the patio where later on you can fire up the BBQ and savour sizzling treats alfresco-style.

Enjoy a 1-mile walk along the coast to the popular village of Blackwaterfoot. Here you'll find an immensely popular golf and tennis club, along with stables if you prefer to explore the area on horseback. The village boasts a local butcher and a bakery with daily fresh produce, as well as a hotel with an indoor swimming pool, bar and restaurant. Be sure to pack your bucket and spade as the village's beach is a vast expanse of golden sand.

As the Isle of Arran is a small island, none of its attractions can be found too far from your home. Head to the Machrie Moor Standing Stones within 4 miles, or perhaps the legendary King's Caves (5 miles). To the east of the island you'll find the grand Brodick Castle (12 miles) and its pretty gardens, alongside the Arran Heritage Museum (10.5 miles) in Brodick. The village of Brodick also boast a luxury spa, which might be a necessary stop after a hike up Goatfell, the island's tallest peak.

It's heresy to come to the Scottish isles and not visit a distillery, so be sure to enjoy some of country's finest liquid export whilst you're here. The Lagg Distillery is a mere 4 miles to the bottom of the island, whilst the Isle of Arran's own Distillery and Visitor Centre can be found 20 miles north of the property.

We had a wonderful week at Moinadch. Our children enjoyed exploring Arran, wildlife watching and playing in the garden/house. The grownups appreciated the beautiful sunsets, BBQ and deck chairs on good days and the log burner on the wild ones! Very comfortable traditional house with lots of space for all and a good sized tiled utility area for bootRead mores/dog bed etc. Hide

The 5 stars say it all. Minor comments - I was confused by 3 different instructions concerning recycling, but tried to respond in a way that I hope would be clear. We found there was a crack in one of the teapots when we arrived and didn't use it, as we thought it might be the cause of the light stain on the worktop. The grounds are beautiful and lRead moreovely for the children - we understood there was a gate from the garden down to the beach. A guide to the alternative route nearby would be helpful Hide

Wonderful, cosy, well equipped and very familiar cottage on a stunning location. Many different and bright rooms with superb views all around. Especially the sunsets in the loggia facing the sea are unforgettable. We loved to stay there and hope to come again.

We really enjoyed our stay. The accommodation is most comfortable and is everything provided that a group needs for a self catering holiday. Sea and rural views from every window make for a relaxing stay. While close proximity to blackwaterfoot and the sea adds to the options and quality of the stay
