Once used as a working mill, this spacious property has been converted into an impressive retreat for large groups and is an ideal choice for exploring the Wasdale Valley.

Treat your entire party to a lavish stay in this impressive cottage that sleeps ten in the Western lakes. Renowned for its sheer beauty, this romantic region is adorned with glacial lakes, gently rolling mountains and rugged fells, so you’ll soon lose yourself amongst the rural splendour. Once your feet have grown weary from exploring, your accommodation awaits with toasty wood burners, roll-top baths and a stunning garden complete with a trickling stream for al fresco evenings.

Classic from the outset with a whole host of luxurious features within, your abode has many period features alongside the contemporary decor and furnishing. There’s an open-plan kitchen/diner fit for a feast with ample worktop space for your resident cooks, plus the dining area is large enough to seat everyone for a celebratory meal across the table and kitchen island. Pad across the laminate floors to find the two lounges, both of which have a roaring wood burner to complete your cosy evening. Entertain the troops with the TV/DVD and iPod dock, and let the youngest guests slip through to the snug to sprawl on the beanbags and watch TV. The upper levels of the property are home to five bedrooms, each one beautifully finished for a restful night’s sleep. In terms of washing and pampering facilities, one of the bedrooms has a handy en-suite whilst the remainder share the shower room and lavish bathroom. Outside, the garden is a tranquil spot to sip drinks in balmy weather, or why not fire up the BBQ and sizzle up a feast? Ample off-road parking is available.

We loved our week at Mill cottage. We were a party of 9 and 2 dogs and there was plenty of space and equipment for everyone ( apart from forks and wineglasses ) issue with the hot water but it was resolved super quickly Despite recent reviews around the houses condition we arrived to a spotless house and clean/ comfy beds and sofas. A bit disappointing. Its in a beautiful area but a bit shabby and tired looking inside. Comfortable beds but other furniture not very comfortable. Not good enough for the money.

Washing up liquid should have been provided - particularly as the grill tray doesn't fit in the dishwasher (we had to clean the grill tray ourselves before we could use it as it was dirty). There were no lights working upstairs in the smaller part of the cottage - we had to go looking for the fuse box to fix it. There was a bad smell when we arriveRead mored which got continually worse over the weekend - it was definitely coming from the drains/septic tank. Dirty carpets. King size bed is badly worn. Hide

Mill Cottage was one of the few dog-friendly properties we could find. And a great find it was. Location is on the western edge of the lakes, The layout of the property worked really well for us (2 adults, 3 young kids, 2 dogs) but would work equally well for 2 families, with two of the five bedrooms positioned some distance from the other 3. QualiRead morety of the house was spot on. Having the Bridge Inn at the end of the driveway was a great bonus. A brilliant stay in a fantastic property. Hide
