Perfect for a big family get together there is a hot tub, ample social space and every bedroom is an ensuite. Conveniently located to explore the local area on foot, or places like Beamish Museum and the North Pennines are a short drive away.

With picturesque, rural surroundings, the sumptuous, five-bedroom property sleeps up to ten guests and a pair of delighted dogs. Set just over 0.5 miles from the village of Lanchester and 8 miles from the historic city of Durham, the property is also about 7 miles from the fringes of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its myriad of walks and beauty spots. Also pick up footpaths and trails close to the house, including the 12-mile Lanchester Valley Way and the 5-mile Lanchester Roman Walk circular walk, which crosses the site of Longovicium Roman Fort.

Let yourselves into the inviting, open-plan kitchen/dining room and put the kettle on to enjoy a cup of tea with a stottie cake you have bought on a trip out. Find everything you need to prepare holiday meals for your party with your own ingredients, as well as a Smart TV and a wine fridge. Dine in here or set the table through in the conservatory/dining room for special, celebratory meals. Find you have a choice of lounges, each with a Smart TV, to spread out into. Also at ground-floor level, are a play bedroom for children, a WC and a utility room, with a washing machine and dryer. Climb the stairs to discover two king-size bedrooms, one with en-suite bathroom and Juliet balcony and the other with a bath in the bedroom and an en-suite shower room. Visit Hedleyhope Fell Nature Reserve, 5.5 miles away, with its plethora of wildlife and impressive display of colour in late summer and autumn. Have a day out to Derwent Reservoir, 13.5 miles away, where you can walk, cycle and take the younger members of your group to the outdoor, adventure playground.

Great place to stay for family and friends to get together. We all had a great time at Easter weekend 2024. Kids found lots to things to keep them happy. Even outside sitting relaxing or playing in garden was nice.Hot tub when down a treat with everyone. Would definitely consider booking again. Thanks for a great weekend

This is probably the best holiday cottage we have ever stayed in! Everything is top quality, from the decor, furnishings and equipment to the warm welcome and helpful owners. Lucy went above and beyond anything we could have expected when we had a family member who unexpectedly needed some TLC. The cottage is spacious and extremely comfortable. A fantastic property for our annual family Christmas gathering. The house is extremely well equipped, spacious yet cosy with a variety of well thought out spaces to enjoy. Absolutely fabulous cottage. Exceptionally equipped, there was everything and more you could possibly need. Very spacious, there was a party of 10 of us for a birthday celebration, this was the perfect location. The owner had thought of everything and also keen to find out if there were any improvements they could make. A superbly equipped house. This property genuinely is suitable for 10 people. The kitchen is very well equipped and Chefs will not be disappointed! If you are lucky with the weather the outdoor dining experience is a treat and a sundowner around the fire pit a must. Nothing is too much trouble for the owners to make your stay perfect. This was a wonderful fully equipped house you basically wanted for nothing. Rooms were very spacious and some lovely surprises of two unique rooms. With great living space downstairs and five generous en-suite bedrooms upstairs, Meadow View provided excellent holiday accommodation for the whole family. Meadow View is a top-rate holiday house with a designer flare! All the furnishings and equipment are to a very high standard and it was a pleasure to stay there. We are a group of friends who holiday together regularly and this was the best house so far. One of our dogs is an escape wizard, but she was completely foiled this time as the beautiful lRead morearge garden really is dog proof. This was one of the best holiday homes we have ever stayed at . We were a multi-generational family group and the 5 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms was perfect . The house was very well equipped and everything was top quality. We loved the hot tub and the garden and enjoyed walking on the Lanchester Valley Path. We stayed at Meadow View House in the week of a family funeral and it made a perfect setting for us to gather in a comfortable, homely, convivial setting. We stayed just before Christmas and the house was beautiful, well laid out, bedrooms were marvellous. Loved the ensuite in the cupboard and the cupboard under the stairs. Very, very cold outside and the house was lovely and warm. Great house for a family gathering. We have a lovely time.

The Borders Clan had a great stay at Meadow View House. There were 3 families in the house all with children ranging from 1 to 10yrs old and the house was perfect. An extremely comfortable and well equipped house in an excellent, quiet location, but a short walk along the Lanchester Valley railway path into the town with shops and restaurants. The railway path runs behind the house and gives access to a number of interesting walks around the area
