With picturesque, rural surroundings, the sumptuous, five-bedroom property sleeps up to ten guests and a pair of delighted dogs. Set just over 0.5 miles from the village of Lanchester and 8 miles from the historic city of Durham, the property is also about 7 miles from the fringes of the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with its myriad of walks and beauty spots. Also pick up footpaths and trails close to the house, including the 12-mile Lanchester Valley Way and the 5-mile Lanchester Roman Walk circular walk, which crosses the site of Longovicium Roman Fort.

Let yourselves into the inviting, open-plan kitchen/dining room and put the kettle on to enjoy a cup of tea with a stottie cake you have bought on a trip out. Find everything you need to prepare holiday meals for your party with your own ingredients, as well as a Smart TV and a wine fridge. Dine in here or set the table through in the conservatory/dining room for special, celebratory meals. Find you have a choice of lounges, each with a Smart TV, to spread out into. Also at ground-floor level, are a play bedroom for children, a WC and a utility room, with a washing machine and dryer. Have a day out to Derwent Reservoir, 13.5 miles away, where you can walk, cycle and take the younger members of your group to the outdoor, adventure playground.

Everything was just perfect, beautiful house, great facilities and a wonderful warm welcome! The hot tub was just fabulous, rooms so well appointed right through the house and every last thing you would want is there for all ages....toys, games, cooking facilities, everything! We spent an amazing 2 weeks at Meadow View! The house is elegant, comfortable, and has attention to detail on par with accommodation designed by an interior designer! An absolute gem of a place to stay to experience all the local area has to offer. Serenely quiet with fantastic views yet still close enough to the village for a morning stroll to grab a bite to eat and the perfect base for wider adventures.
