Tucked at the end of its own private driveway and on the Devon and Dorset border, this delightful property is in the charming village of Monkton Wyld, which is a rural haven bordered by unspoilt countryside and acres of ancient woodland. This beautiful holiday let has spectacular views across the valley and down towards the sea, offering an array of exciting trails from your doorstep. Spend your days exploring near and far, enjoy the garden and watch the neighbouring horses grazing in the fields or venture to Lyme Regis or Charmouth beach 5 miles away for a day of fossil-hunting rounded off with a fresh seafood supper.

This quintessential detached property is homely and comforting from the outset, greeting you with a stunning array of flowering shrubs, climbing ivy and a sweeping lawn. Leave your outdoor boots and shoes in the quarry tiled hall, taking 3 steps up into the farmhouse-style kitchen for a well-deserved brew with homemade cake. You’ll have everything you need to prepare sumptuous suppers and light lunches, best enjoyed in the cosy dining room next door. Across the hallway a step down takes you into the lounge, made deliciously warm by the wood burner tucked in the inglenook fireplace. The first double bedroom is accessed through the lounge via a small set of 4 steps. This light and airy bedroom has French doors leading out to a pretty terrace, it’s an irresistible nook for an evening G&T whilst catching glimpses of the sea. Also downstairs is the shower room, along with a quirky triple bedroom featuring three single beds that are ideal for younger guests. Upstairs you’ll discover two further spacious double bedrooms and an inviting bathroom with a shower over the bath and underfloor heating - far too tempting on chilly nights.

The gardens surrounding the property are bordered by natural hedgerows and are fantastic for lazy summer afternoons, relaxing whilst the children play on the sloping lawn. Take a stroll through the terraced gardens and pretty orchard, there is also a patio area with a BBQ, table and seating, perfect for al fresco meals and drinks.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

A lovely cottage. We very much enjoyed our stay. The cottage was very well equipped, very clean and private. The rooms are all a good size, bright and airy. Great living space and a large kitchen. A lovely big garden for the children to play in. The owners were available at all times to help with anything we needed. We hope to be able to come againRead more. Thank you! Hide

Beautifully presented farmhouse which was exactly as described. The kitchen was so well equipped it was like being in someones home rather than a rental. The house was spotlessly clean. Charmouth and Seatown lovely places with lots of space.

Private, relaxing and well renovated cottage close to the coastline. Wonderful host, beautiful garden, accommodates a large family (including our dog) and a much needed break. Definitely recommend to others.

Beautifully equipped and very comfortable and homely. A great house and garden for relaxing. Lovely place for a family get-together, in our case from Pembrokeshire, Penzance and the Isle of Wight.

We really enjoyed our stay here. There were two families staying, both with young children, and it worked very well. The layout of the house and garden are interesting and great for kids to play in. Level changes on the ground floor are tricky for crawling babies or new walkers. The hard floors in the kitchen, dining and hallway aren't ideal for yoRead moreung kids, but we had no problems. Kitchen is very well kitted out for the more adventurous chef. Ideal location for Charmouth and Lyme. Hide

Beautiful cottage, beautiful location. When we first walked in we were like wow. The outside is lovely to with beautiful views of the countryside and you can see the sea also. There was 8 of us. 4 children which were kept busy by the large garden and outdoor play area. They really enjoyed them selves. Thanks so much for a lovely holiday

Th cottage was perfect for us all and very well equipped. The kitchen appliances were superb and the kitchen was very well equipped. Having the bedrooms spread out, and 2 downstairs, worked very well for us as we had 4 generations of our family sharing the cottage. Location was idyllic. easy to reach so many beautiful places too.
