Further afield, Brecon Beacons National Park is less than 10 miles away, where mile after mile of mountain trekking, cycling and horse riding awaits, or for a more sedate excursion you could head 8 miles east to Hay-on-Wye to browse bountiful bookshops, independent boutiques and antique stores, before relaxing in one of the many excellent eateries.

Stepping into this renovated property you are greeted by a fusion of old and new, with ancient oak beams offsetting contemporary comforts. The open-plan living space features a polished oak floor and underfloor heating, with a contemporary style wood burner making it warm and cosy on chilly days. This leads seamlessly into a farmhouse-style kitchen with all the modern conveniences you need, as well as a generously sized dining table that comfortably seats eight. You will also find a useful utility room with a washing machine and storage space, plus a large boot and coat room that can be used to store bikes safely indoors. A downstairs shower room provides one of the property’s washrooms and leads on to a truly decadent spa room with hot tub. Upstairs, you find four bedrooms, consisting of a ‘master’ room with king-size bed and en-suite shower room; a second king-size room with an adjoining door to a twin room containing one standard and one 2’6” single bed; and a further twin room. There is also a family bathroom with a bath and hand-held shower.

Outside, an enclosed patio provides you with a private outdoor space.

A beautiful lodge left us wanting nothing to make our stay a great one. Including the indoor hot tub . A handy welcome pack and Liz & Steve (the owners) on hand if needed, Well located for walks of various abilities and the close proximity to the Brecon Beacons and the Griffin pub .

Beautiful comfortable cottage. Loved the hot tub, especially as it was indoors, so could be used at any time/any weather.

Exceptional finish to cottage.Great care has been taken in the renovation of a barn to accommodate modern day living. Central to the village, amenities within 5 minutes stroll and easy access to transport routes for mid Wales. It is adjacent to an A route which was a little noisy and busy during weekdays....so plan a full agenda of sightseeing.

Llys Faen was a beautiful converted barn equipped with everything we needed for our holiday. There were four adults and four children in our party and there was plenty of room and seating for all of us. Liz and Steve were friendly and welcoming and on hand to offer advice when we needed it. Thank you for a wonderful week!

Really nice cottage finished to a very high standard. Great hot tub. Owners were very friendly and made every effort for us to have a relaxing stay. Additional covid cleaning measures meant that we had a slightly earlier departure than normal which was a shame but hardly the owners' fault. Will definitely be back for another visit.
