To steal a moment of peace and quiet all to yourself, sneak into the charming library area where books are stacked high above your head and there’s bound to be a tale you can delve into. Brilliantly busy with patterns, splashes of colour and exquisite exposed beams, the eclectic first-floor lounge is the perfect destination for lively evenings. Its pair of warming wood burners also makes this space an ideal spot in which to curl up and lap up the heat on chilly days. The bedrooms also come in pairs, with two on the ground floor and two occupying the first floor up a set of steep stairs, great if you’re two families holidaying together. Each floor has a family bathroom so there’s no need to queue up to enjoy a soak in the tub or a refreshing shower before heading out for the day. Grab your boots and coats from the handy utility room, great for leaving anything which gets muddy, and get on your way.
