Set within the grounds of a country house, this sizeable 18th-century barn conversion is the perfect choice for a multi-family holiday or friends’ get together.

Just north of the Brecon Beacons National Park, call this cottage home and surround yourself with towering peaks, lakes and well-trodden tracks just waiting to be explored. Sleeping eight guests across four rooms, with two dogs welcome to join you, the spacious, characterful living space is perfectly suited to groups of family and friends to enjoy sociable nights in the countryside. A roaring wood burner is just what you need to tempt you back inside after days out and about, and the large garden with a BBQ provides you with all you need for an al fresco evening in the sun.

Make your way into the heart of the home and pile the cupboards high with ingredients and treats. The kitchen/diner is filled with natural light and has an AGA to help you feed hungry guests with big appetites after days full of exploring. Relax after dinner and let the dishwasher do the washing up so you can all join together with a glass in hand or settle down to a night filled with games or TV programmes. To steal a moment of peace and quiet all to yourself, sneak into the charming library area where books are stacked high above your head and there’s bound to be a tale you can delve into. Brilliantly busy with patterns, splashes of colour and exquisite exposed beams, the eclectic first-floor lounge is the perfect destination for lively evenings. Its pair of warming wood burners also makes this space an ideal spot in which to curl up and lap up the heat on chilly days. The bedrooms also come in pairs, with two on the ground floor and two occupying the first floor up a set of steep stairs, great if you’re two families holidaying together. Each floor has a family bathroom so there’s no need to queue up to enjoy a soak in the tub or a refreshing shower before heading out for the day. Grab your boots and coats from the handy utility room, great for leaving anything which gets muddy, and get on your way.

The location is easy to find if you follow the well written directions and the house is beautifully maintained. On arrival we were amazed by the sheer size of the cottage! The photographs really do not do it justice. It is roomy and comfortable, with everything in good, clean condition. We loved the character of the cottage, with all the unusual fuRead morerniture and books in every room. The owner lives next door and is welcoming and friendly, without being overwhelming. We most definitely recommend. Hide

We were very impressed with the cottage. It felt much larger in person than we imagined from the photos. It is in a beautiful setting and feels very private as the farmhouse and cottage are set in beautiful gardens and look out over fields of sheep. The grown ups, children and dogs were all very happy. Thank you for a lovely stay.
