Make a great escape with your family and friends to this gorgeous former farmhouse in the Lake District. Set in the magnificent surroundings of the Newlands Valley, it is just 3 miles from the vibrant Lakeland hub of Keswick, and 0.5 miles from Braithwaite, with its shop and pubs, yet also enjoys utter tranquillity and exceptional natural beauty. Sleeping up to eight guests, the spacious, four-bedroom country home could be ideal for an extended family, two families together or a group of friends. Enter the beautifully presented country retreat from the back and leave walking boots and jackets in the utility room, with its washing machine, tumble dryer and extremely useful additional fridge and freezer. Wander on through to the spacious kitchen/diner, where you can take turns at cooking delicious meals together then pour yourselves a glass of wine to sip up at the breakfast bar as dinner roasts. Gather around the table for special celebrations and group meals then wander on through to either the main lounge, with its wood burner for winter nights and Smart TV for movie evenings, or the alternative lounge, where there’s a second Smart TV. At the end of each exciting day, venture upstairs to lay your head on the pillow in one of the sumptuous bedrooms. Choose between three super-king-size rooms, two with en-suite shower rooms, and a twin. The family bathroom is also up here. Wake up to glorious Lake District views every morning of your break then spill out into the beautiful gardens to take breakfast close to nature on warm days. There are two pubs in Braithwaite. And one at Swinside. A short walk, 3/4 mile. Brilliant!

Lovely comfortable house in a great location with walks from the door and a river to paddle in. Be aware there is no downstairs toilet, which for a house sleeping 8 is unusual.

For those who like to walk straight from the door an important path along the river towards Cats Bells is no longer accessible-awaiting repairs needed due to storm damage.

This is a fantastic property which we have now stayed at a couple of times. It is ideally situated and extremely warm and very comfortable - heating is excellent. Couple of issues with outside lights not working but I'm sure will be sorted. Will certainly be returning

On arrival the cottage felt cold and there was a strong smell of dog in the kitchen. There was no guest welcome pack with WiFi details etc like local taxi numbers, takeaways etc so ended up having to call customers service. Basic essentials like salt and pepper were empty The cottage itself is in a fabulous location

This was our 1st visit and was recommended by a close friend. It was to celebrate my 60th birthday with my family who had not been able to get together in the last 2 years due to covid. A lovely welcoming farmhouse in a perfect location for enjoying the walks and surroundibg villages. We left totally refreshed & looking forward to our next visit.

Fantastic farmhouse that was remote but only 40 min walk into Keswick, this was perfect for us. We were 2 families of 4 with all children grown up in late teens and the house was plenty big enough for us all.
