Located in the village of Stonegate, this property is ideally located to make use of the nearby shops and pubs. Bewl Water is only a few miles away, which is a beautiful spot for walking, cycling and even water sports. If you’re looking for excellent shopping and dining facilities, head to nearby Tunbridge Wells, where the famous Pantiles district is well-worth a visit.

Leave your boots and coats in the porch before continuing through to the lounge. With a large sofa, wooden flooring and cosy throws, this is a tranquil space in which to unwind in front of the roaring wood burner in the striking inglenook fireplace on a chilly evening. Beyond, the spacious and inviting kitchen/dining room has high ceilings and exposed beams. This spectacular space opens out to the garden through patio doors, which fill the room with more light. In the kitchen you’ll find an electric hob and oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, and recipe books for culinary inspiration if needed. The kitchen table seats eight comfortably and the pretty furniture adds more country charm to this room. The first bedroom with en-suite shower, WC, basin and mirror is located on the ground floor and features a king-size bed and french windows opening out to a patio. Also on this floor is another bedroom with king-size bed and a further bedroom with a double bed, and an en-suite WC, the other shares the main bathroom with a bath, a separate power shower, WC and large sandstone tiles. Steep stairs lead up to a bedroom with twin beds is located in the eaves and makes a great hideaway for children. Velux windows flood the room with natural light, while a SkyTV, DVD player and children’s games provide extra entertainment.

Outside, the garden has been largely laid to lawn and is bordered with pretty plants. At the end of the garden you’ll find a little cabin with table and chairs on the outside decked area, the perfect spot for a summer BBQ overlooking the woods and fields. Keen tennis players should enquire about use of the court in advance to make the most of that fantastic facility.

This was the perfect cottage for us. Beautiful garden with lovely views. Friendly sheep and kind owners. Walks in the woods and fields from the doorstep. Very comfortable rooms, bathrooms and kitchen and so well equipped. We could not have chosen a better place to be together, from the 71 year olds down to the three year old.

When we arrived, our daughter said "this is paradise". She wasn't far off. The house and garden are beautiful and very well equipped. We enjoyed Bedgebury, Battle Abbey and Hever Castle - and the South Coast.

We have just had a beautiful weekend away at little bardown. It's a gorgeous cottage which felt like home away from home. The kids loved being on a farm and being able to hang out with the lambs! Thanks so much!

The houses (we rented both ) are finished to a high standard and equipped with everything you could possibly need plus more. Our daughter woke up every morning early to go and see the lambs and two pot belly pigs nearby and then went for a walk in the fields to see the cows. Several nice pubs within easy driving distance and all the shops you wouldRead more need for provisions in Wadhurst about 5 minutes away. Hide

We enjoyed the tennis court and lovely views over the valley. It was well-equipped, however the lounge was rather small for the number of people the house slept. We missed the fact that it wasn't easy to walk from the property. It was on quite a narrow busy road.

We were made to feel very welcome by the owners. The place was well-equipped and we had enough space for all 8 of us. We enjoyed the use of the bbq and tennis courts. The views from the garden are stunning. All in all a very peaceful place to stay and would consider returning again at another time of the year to explore the area more.
