Accessible pretty sandy beaches lie below all safe for children to swim and paddle. For a day trip try Charlestown, featured in the Poldark harbour scenes, perfect for a light lunch on the quay. Canoes are available for hire at several points nearby, while Fowey, a fashionable port town, also offers a ferry trip past seal-inhabited waters to nearby Mevagissey. Close-by also lies the world famous The Eden Project, The Ship Wreck Centre, Lost Gardens of Heligan, and National Trust properties including nearby Lanhydrock House.
