Guests can perfect their serve on the tennis courts and if the weather turns inclement there is plenty to do in the well-equipped games barn. Sample traditional Devon cider in one of the traditional inns of the surrounding villages including Buckland Brewer (3 miles) and Parkham (5 miles). The beautiful beaches of the North Devon coastline are within easy reach with Westward Ho! (9.5 miles) a short drive away where you can book a group surf lesson, practise your putt at the crazy golf course and feel the need for speed on the go-kart track.

Greet your guests in the welcoming hallway of your traditional stone farmhouse where there is plenty of space for hugs and handshakes. The open-plan interior is bright and spacious with plenty of character from the exposed stone walls and ceiling beams. Cook up a storm in the colourful kitchen where you will find everything you need to prepare delicious dinners for sharing around the large dining table. After your evening meal, sink into one of the sumptuous sofas and relax in front of the cosy wood burner. Head to Bideford (7 miles) where you can hire a fleet of bicycles and pedal out along the Tarka Trail, kayak your way along the River Torridge or board the MS Oldenburg for a day trip to tranquil Lundy Island. Along the coast is the quaint fishing village of Appledore (11 miles) with its host of pubs and restaurants serving local produce. From Appledore, catch the passenger ferry across the estuary to stroll along the sand dunes at Instow Beach (11 miles). We would highly recommend Knaworthy barn! The owners have thought of everything, a real home from home. We were 4 generations staying here, and as the weather wasn't the best we made good use of the games room, barn and tennis court. Only a short ride to the coast too. Highly recommended!

We were particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the house and then delighted by the whole house with its amazing facilities. As the weather was somewhat changeable, were able to make full use of the table tennis, pool and air hockey when it rained and the lovely tennis court when the sun was shining. Beautiful converted barn. Plenty of space both inside and out. Lovely garden, tennis court, child's play area, football pitch, table tennis, etc. Equipment provided. Surrounded by fields and farmland. Peaceful and quiet. The downside is that the cottage is in the middle of nowhere. Wow, what an amazing stay!! The cottage has absolutely everything you need for both adults and children. There is so much to do (tennis court, pool table, air hockey, skittles, table football, table tennis- with equipment provided). It is a lovely barn set in beautiful countryside. Perfect for families. Isolated but in easy reach of beaches. The attention to detail with extras and cleanliness is amazing and we would recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the countryside rather than in a bustling town.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Knaworthy. The property was fitted to a very high specification, with every piece of equipment we needed available to us. The owners made it clear that if there was anything else we needed this could be provided. We made good use of the adjoined games room, outdoor games area, playground and woodland walks on the faRead morerm. Our children were very well catered for and they were very sad to be leaving! The pictures really don't do this place justice! An absolutely amazing location with great amenities, large amount of space and a lovely homely building. We were made to feel very safe and at home, even during these strange times with the virus. Very thoughtful owners that left out many useful things for us to use such as BBQ equipment, lots of uteRead morensils in the kitchen and sanitising stations all around the property. The cottage is set within 10mins drive from Bideford and within a 3/4 hour journey to most beaches suitable for sand, and surf. The cottage had ample room for 9 of us with 5 children ranging from 19 - 10 and offered extensive activities from tennis, skittles, table tennis, pool to board games. The barn is beautifully restored and attention to detail as well as comfort is amazing. Its relaxing but very functional, and lots of options for using space; social distancing not an issue as so many areas to use in the grounds. And its immaculately clean.
