This traditional fishing lodge with impressive views over Loch Maree has comfortable space for 18, can house more on request, is ideal for family gatherings in glorious Highlands seclusion.

An ideal base for hillwalking groups seeking to explore the nearby Torridon Hills and surrounding area, this spacious lodge sleeps 18 across 15 bedrooms. In a peaceful position by the river, and still less than half a mile from the local village amenities in Kinlochewe, it’s a beautiful place to unwind and relax in after a day on the trails. Its rural location makes it perfect for other outdoor pursuits as well, including fishing and stalking.

There is an abundance of social spaces in the lodge, so everyone is free to spread out and gather together when they wish. The lodge has a homely, comfortable feel, and its classic and colourful country-house interior reflects its sporting-lodge status. While your walking gear is cleaned up and refreshed in the laundry and drying rooms, you can put your feet up in front of the drawing room’s open fire. Bask in the warm glow of the flames, with a drink from the bar as you chat about the day’s adventures. Tuck into a hearty meal at the long wooden table in the formal dining room, and spot pine martens through the window. The wood-panelled walls and stone fireplace make this room wonderful for celebratory dinners and raising your glasses to a spectacular holiday in the Highlands. Move to a soft seat, either back to the drawing room or in the pretty sitting room. Watch a favourite programme in the TV room, and see if you can persuade a friend to play a tune on the grand piano in the music room. And if you’re in need of some quiet time, run a hot bath and soothe tired legs and feet with a soak. The charming bedrooms are spread across three floors, so choose yours and snuggle under the duvet. If you wake to a rainy morning, then take it easy with a game or two of billiards in the games room, until the clouds have cleared and you can set out once more.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kinlochewe Lodge. It is very well appointed, comfortable, warm and spacious, and was an ideal home for our international group, walking and exploring in Torridon.
