Property code: BN208

A detached traditional former Carmarthenshire farmhouse set in an idyllic 80-acre estate, for impressive landscape views and a range of trails into the forests from your doorstep.

Its brilliant location in the Carmarthenshire countryside makes this the perfect abode for those with a passion for exploring on foot and two wheels. Surrounded by tracks and trails and only an 8-mile trip to the RSPB Gwenffrwd-dinas Nature Reserve, there is always an adventure to be had. Sleeping eight guests across four bedrooms and with a large, open-plan hub of the house, this farmhouse is a wonderful place to call home whilst holidaying with family and friends. An extra treat to welcome you home from outside is the bubbling hot tub (shared with other properties on-site), the perfect remedy for aching muscles. With two of your dogs also welcome, be sure to pack the treat jar and get ready to embark on stick hunts.

With your bags full of provisions to fill the cupboards, make your way into the fantastic kitchen where there is plenty of space to store goodies. Its sleek worktops and storage make catering for all of your party as easy as can be, and the island is great for piling high with breakfast bowls and gathering around with a mug of coffee. For formal meals and sociable drinks, make use of the dining table which comfortably seats eight and is also a great place to play games. When it’s been a long day in the great outdoors and you want to snuggle up and get cosy for the night, make your way to the lounge and put your feet up on one of two sofas before heading off to bed to drift into sleep. Of four bedrooms, one sits on the ground floor and has its own en-suite shower room with WC. If you’re climbing stairs to the first floor, you are also treated to an en-suite shower room and must take care of sloping ceilings. There is ample off-road parking.

We stayed in the Kestrel cottage which I booked for my husbands 60th birthday and it was lovely. The only issue we had was the sofas which either needs to be replace or reupholstered to make them very comfortable. The owner, Lucy, was very attentive and welcoming. The location was superb with some amazing scenery local to the cottage
