Head off into the southern reaches of the Lake District from this welcoming holiday home in Foxfield. Sleeping eight guests, the large, dog-friendly cottage is 1.5 miles from Broughton-in-Furness and less than 1 mile from the edge of the magnificent national park. With four bedrooms, a lawned garden for summer relaxation and a wood burner for winter warmth, the three-storey retreat could be ideal for your group stay. It is well located for both country and coastal walks, as well as hikes through the Duddon Valley and trips into Cumbrian towns and villages.

Open the front door to this sizeable, terraced home to find an entrance hall giving leading to the main accommodation. Head through to the lounge after your busy days out to light the open fire and settle on comfortable seating for a spell. Discuss your adventures, play games together or switch on the Smart TV and search for your favourite boxset. Make your way through to the kitchen to unpack any provisions you have bought and to make cups of tea and home-cooked meals for your family and friends. Lay the table in the dining room for delicious lunches and dinners together and then stay seated for a board game or a hand or two of cards. As night falls, wander up to the upper storeys of the house where all the bedrooms and bathrooms are situated. There are two double bedrooms on the first floor, together with a family bathroom. Venture on up another level to find an additional double bedroom, as well as a twin bedroom, with an en-suite shower room. Spill out into the garden on sunny days. This is situated at the front of the house and has a lawn where children and pets can play. To the rear of the property is a courtyard, where you can relax with a cup of tea and also store your cycles. Parking for this property is on the street, subject to availability.

Head out on walks along the Cumbria Coastal Way from your front door. Try the 8-mile section to Millom, which takes you through Broughton-in-Furness. Enjoy a 6-mile hike from the house to the Swinside Stone Circle, which features 55 stones and is said to be one of the three most important stone circles in Cumbria. Venture 9 miles to Coniston Water in the Lake District. Here you can walk sections of the 16-mile route around the picturesque lake, taking in part of the Cumbria Way. Head 13 miles to Lake Windermere to board a cruise on the water, disembarking at beauty spots along the way. Catch a steam train along the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway, 13.5 miles away at Lakeside.

Cottage was well equipped and comfy we had everything g we needed There is plenty of room and there was 4 adults 3 children and 2 dogs and we all had plenty of space

Very nice property, very clean. Lack of local amenities was the only downside.

Perfect cottage, the nearest town Broughton in Furness only had two pubs and only one served food so quite limited. Apparently the other pub in reopening spring 2024. Although the cottage is located across the road from the Trainline so perfect to visit nearby towns.
