Located on a quiet road leading to the sea at West Bay near Bridport and the adjoining crescent shaped beach near the harbour. West Bay has a wealth of things to see and do, and with its working harbour and harbourside cafes, it is a fantastic place to watch the world go by. Or, you could get adventurous and take a trip on one of the local boats to take in a tour or go mackerel fishing and try to catch your dinner!

After first entering the property through the main hall you’ll find yourself in the sitting room that has attractive parquet flooring and a bay window enhancing the spacious nature of this whole property. Heading through into the dining room and kitchen, there are bi folding doors which open out to the terrace, combining indoor and outdoor living with views of the sea. The kitchen area is complete with an oven and hob, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee pod machine, microwave and dishwasher. Moving through the French doors takes you into a beautiful, spacious sun room complete with mosaic tiled flooring, a cosy and snug log burner fire and glimpses of the sea. You can also access the balcony through another set of French doors from the sun room, which is the perfect place to enjoy watching the sunset and take in the pure sea air. Walking up the winding stairs will lead you to two further bedrooms both of which have views out to the sea and have slightly reduced ceiling height due to being in the eaves of the building. The spacious Master double bedroom has a stylish en-suite bathroom with a roll top bath and separate walk in shower. The second bedroom is a twin and completing the first floor is a bathroom with bath and shower overhead. There are two further bedrooms on the ground floor, one double and one twin, with dual aspect. Also on the ground floor is a shower room with a shower and WC, as well as a separate WC with a washing machine and tumble dryer.

The enclosed garden has three levels and consists of paved paths, lawn and raised borders. There is a large terraced area bordered by flowers, trees and shrubs - the perfect place for a BBQ during the summer for some alfresco dining. Alternatively you could cook a chilli in the tripod above the fire pit while potatoes cook in the coals, or relax while toasting marshmallows and watch the sunset.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

This is a great holiday house, well laid out on the ground floor with lots of different spaces - so children can do their own thing while still in sight. Garden is a series of spaces & great for kids too. Kitchen-diner with bi-fold doors to patio is wonderful. West beach (sandy) is a couple of hundred yards down the cliff. This property is well located within walking distance of the harbour, beach and the coast path but in a quiet residential location. The accommodation is flexible and spacious for a larger group or two families. The kitchen is well equipped and the living areas are comfortably furnished. We have been coming to Dorset for many years and loved this cottage. Bright and airy, well-equipped and spacious, and a five minute walk to West Bay, so great views from the cottage. There are steep narrow stairs from the parking spaces into the garden which make unloading and loading the car slightly awkward but a minor niggle. Cottage is wonderfully equipped and very cosy too with a great garden and lovely views. Location is perfect and a great place for many walks and so many beaches nearby and things to do. Mandy who looked after the cottage was extremely helpful too.

Perfectly positioned house with views of the sea. Great internal spaces to relax together or separately, for either a family or group of friends. Dont forget the walk around the harbour every morning to get the breakfast pastries.

We felt very comfortable in this attractive and extremely well-equipped house. We were surprised at one or two reviews from a previous year which expressed some dissatisfaction with the standards of cleanliness, as we found everything to be sparklingly clean. The house is well-positioned, being high enough up the hill for the main upstairs bedroom Read moreto offer views across the settlement of West Bay to the countryside beyond, as well as out to sea, but it is also a very short walk downhill to the beach. The smell of damp was evident on first entering the property. Downstairs bathroom and twin room were very stinky. Cleaning was not spotless ie. hairs, not cleaning behind things, down side if cooker, window sills etc. Overall a great property in a good location.
