Nestled into the hillside with magnificent views of the Black Mountains, this accommodation is spread across two properties, the main farmhouse and a self-contained barn, both restored with every luxury in mind.

This lovely farmhouse, with a separate self-contained barn, sleeps 10 over five bedrooms, with the option to add another four on two sofa beds. For even more space, another six can sleep in the Great Escape glamping huts. It makes a fantastic venue for family gatherings and parties, and the two separate buildings mean it's easy for everyone to have their own space. Both the house and barn have been beautifully restored, with lots of luxurious touches to make your stay a memorable one. You'll love the views out over the Black Mountains in this rural property that is still within easy reach of Hay-on-Wye, 5 miles away.

 

Both the farmhouse and barn have been thoughtfully restored and decorated, with wooden beams, traditional-style furniture and welcoming splashes of colour. The farmhouse has a cosy open-plan living space, with comfortable sofas arranged around an open fire and a family dining table. There's also a separate snug, which makes a great teenage hangout or a quiet place to enjoy a morning coffee or late-night tipple. The traditional kitchen has a range cooker, lots of storage space and a breakfast table for easy social dining. In the barn, you'll also find a lounge/diner, just as cosy, with a wood burner. The barn kitchen is beautifully designed with a butler's sink and electric oven and hob. There are three bedrooms in the farmhouse, all doubles, and an impressive bathroom with a roll-top bath. The barn has two double bedrooms and another fabulous bathroom with a roll-top bath. Outside there is a fantastic terrace with seating and views over the mountains. It's the kind of place you can easily lose a few hours just enjoying nature. There's also a hot tub, which you can use for an extra fee.

The location is perfect for those who appreciate beautiful countryside. If you'd like to celebrate by night and get out in the fresh air by day, you'll love it. The Brecon Beacons National Park surrounds the property and is ripe for exploring, with numerous walking and cycling trails where you'll pass by wild horses and mountain sheep. If you're a thrill-seeker, you can easily arrange rock-climbing, canoeing, white-water rafting and hang-gliding nearby. Hay-on-Wye, famous for its literary festival, is a great place to mooch for a day, enjoying its bookshops and pubs. Or head to the cathedral city of Hereford, 25 miles away, for great shopping and dining.

Superb location with amazing views. A characterful, yet comfortable, house with an interesting history. With the added convenience of the beautiful barn conversion, this property is eminently suitable for a large extended family. Outside, a gas barbecue, a hot tub and a chiminea allow you to enjoy the scenery well into the evening. Excellent walks Read moreabound, and Hay itself is charming. One warning: lots of different levels with steps, so the barn may be more suitable for the less mobile. Hide

This is a very comfortable, well thought out and unique holiday house in a stunning, remote location. It is currently a real holiday haven amidst all the changing covid rules as you really can apply the rule of 6 or 2 households indoors safely. Spectacular views and wonderful wildlife...sitting in the hot tub in the rain (the weather was hit and miRead moress) watching the housemartins- is an opportunity not to be missed! Hide

This Cottage is absolutely beautiful, excellent facilities, with wonderful surrounding countryside. It is the perfect place to unwind and get away from busy life. I would highly recommend it!
