Close to the banks of the River Derwent, and just a mile south of Derwentwater, this idyllic cottage has been stylishly furnished and elegantly decorated in cool neutral tones, making it a fantastic holiday retreat for larger families and groups of friends.

Entering this bright and airy property the refreshing open-plan lounge/diner is a lovely space to unwind in. The lounge features plenty of seating, a Smart TV, Xbox and a wood burner set in a slate fireplace, making this an ideal room for settling back, chatting about the day or watching a movie. The stylish dining table is perfect for everyone to gather around, plan the day’s activities and share a fabulous family meal that you can rustle up in the sleek and fully equipped kitchen. The cottage has four refreshing and relaxing bedrooms, two on the ground floor. Here you can choose between a king-size room with views towards Skiddaw, and a charming twin room which can be made up as a super-king-size room and looks out towards Castle Crag and Borrowdale. There are two more bedrooms on the first floor, each with wonderful far-reaching mountain views: a king-size room and a twin which can be made up as a super-king-size on request. The cottage also has two stylish family bathrooms, one on each floor. Outside, the enclosed garden has plenty of mature flora and a bench perfect for taking in the stunning views across the valley. The grounds also feature a further garden with a stream running through it, and patio furniture providing a charming spot for dining alfresco.

The picturesque village of Grange has some lovely places to eat and drink and is ideally situated for exploring the beautiful Borrowdale Valley. Surprise View (3.5 miles) overlooks Derwentwater, a fantastic lake for water sports including kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding. Heading into Keswick (5 miles), there are plenty of attractions including the Puzzling Place, Alhambra Cinema, Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Adventure Centre and the Theatre by the Lake. Also nearby are Castlerigg Stone Circle, Threlkeld Quarry and Mining Museum, and Mirehouse and Gardens (all within 10.5 miles). Climbers can head to Grisedale Pike and Dale Head, with Moss Force Waterfall and Black Moss Pot to the south (all within 7 miles). To the west are the beautiful lakes of Buttermere and Crummock Water with Bassenthwaite Lake to the north (all within 10 miles).

This is the third time we've stayed here and we love it which is why we keep coming back. The cottage is spacious, warm and comfortable and the location is perfect for us. It is quiet and great for walking but near enough to Keswick for shopping and eating out.

Fabulous second stay for us. 3 generations, had some real quality time together. Stunning views, fabulous walks, climbs and trips out. Had an outstanding meal at Borrowdale gates hotel. Service, surroundings and food all top class. Cant wait to go back to this stunning cottage.

The cottage with in a stunning area, absolutely gorgeous and quiet. Couldn't have asked for a better view. It really is something special. The house was cosy and warm and had absolutely everything you needed. We were able to do lovely walks - would definitely need a car for food buying or pubs etc. Beds were very cosy and warm and comfortable.

A fantastic location between Derwent and Borrowdale. We chose this cottage because we know the area well and walked past the cottage last year. Amazing views from every room and lots of walking options from the door. Plenty of space for a party of 8. A great place and we expect to return when we want to be based in this location again.

Beautiful house in a beautiful area. Lovely walks from the door and great food at the cafe down the lane. We went to my nieces wedding during our stay at Lodore Falls Hotel, it was sunny and warm so they got married outside among the fantastic scenery and gardens. Lovely food and friendly staff. Such a lovely property - impeccably clean, and in an exceptional location. It was spacious enough for our family group and dog, and the immediate garden is fully enclosed. Beds were comfortable, and we found the Aga easy to use. Walks direct from the property were many and varied and Derwentwater Marina 15 mins away for hiring boats.
