The traditional Victorian seaside town of Swanage has a great choice of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes, and is known for its long sandy beaches, promenade and pier. The town is at the eastern end of the Jurassic Coast and makes an ideal base for exploring the Purbeck Hills. Along the coast, you can visit the old Winspit Quarry (5.5 miles), Kimmeridge Bay (11.5 miles), Old Harry Rocks (4 miles), Lulworth Cove (18 miles) and the natural arch of Durdle Door (18.5 miles). Nature-lovers can explore Hartland Moor National Nature Reserve (8 miles) or catch a ferry from Studland (3.5 miles) to explore the beautiful Brownsea Island. Heading inland, you can visit Lulworth Castle (15 miles) and Corfe Castle (6 miles).

Five steps lead up to the front door of this delightful property. Heading inside there’s a mosaic-tiled hall where you can leave coats and boots. You will find a light and inviting open-plan lounge/diner with plenty of cosy seating, an open fire set in a Victorian fireplace, a Smart TV/DVD, a bay window with sea views and French doors to the garden. The dining area is perfect for sharing a family meal together. You will also find an attractively designed kitchen equipped with a range oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, wine fridge, washing machine, dryer and dishwasher, as well as a handy breakfast bar and a door to the garden. There is also a ground-floor WC. Going upstairs to the first floor, you will find the first three comfortable bedrooms, all with feature fireplaces and hand basins. The master bedroom has a 5’ double bed and a bay window with a sea view; there’s also a double room and a bunk bedroom. This floor has a shower room with shower and WC. The rooms on the second floor have reduced height in the eaves. There are two single bedrooms, both with sea views, as well as a bathroom complete with a claw-foot bath, separate shower and WC.

Outside, there’s a gravelled area to the front of the property with a palm tree. The courtyard-style back garden is reached by two steps and has raised beds, a gas BBQ and a slightly raised seating area which affords stunning views over the rooftops and out to Swanage Bay. There is roadside parking available.

Please note there is a refundable £150 security deposit for this property payable closer to the start of your holiday.

This is a smashing property close to town yet on a quiet street. Lots of communal space as well as very comfortable bedrooms for privacy if needed. The equipment is very good and, in February when we stayed, the house was very cosy. We had a great big family stay here, and all who came (13 to 72 years old) loved the place. Wed expected parking to bRead moree a bit iffy, but it wasnt. If you want a really comfortable all purpose holiday home in Swanage, this is it. Hide

The property was very clean and furnished with warm and friendly items. We come to Swanage for the Blues Festival so staying in accommodation so close the venues was perfect as the music does not finish until 12:00 midnight and a short walk back to the cottage was very welcomed. I am also an early riser so it was lovely to be able to take a shortRead more walk to find the sea and thereby stroll along the beach, walk out onto the pier or climb the cliff. It is also very convenient for shops, restaurants and cafe's etc; all of which are excellent. Hide

The property was very clean, well equipped and spacious, perfect for our family group of 7 adults. We had everything we needed and were pleased with how handy the location was for local amenities.
