A unique stay to excite all the family, discover the mysterious spiral staircases, fairy tale turrets and original 16th-century transcriptions in this stunning converted castle.

Set in an acre of ground, this romantic and historic castle, whose walls hold the secrets of bygone times, is a magnificent backdrop to a peaceful and idyllic holiday in the Cairngorms National Park. Built in 1598, the fairy-tale property boasts turrets and spiral staircases, as well as a modern conservatory that really makes the most of the amazing views over rolling fields criss-crossed by traditional dry-stone walls. Brimming with Scottish charm, this quirky, characterful house can’t fail to bring a smile to your face.

The cosy kitchen with its vaulted ceiling feels a world away from everyday stresses, and after a long day outdoors, the whole group can pitch in to help prepare a well-deserved hearty dinner, with a dishwasher to help with clean-up duty. On sunny evenings, retire to the conservatory while the children play in the enclosed garden. Or on wintry days, settle back on the sofas beside the roaring open fire in the living room on the first floor while the winds whistle outside. Put a family film on for a movie night or curl up in the window seat with a good book. With three sofas plus armchairs and window seats, there’s room enough for everyone to gather together in the evenings, maybe even get some traditional games going like charades. Kids will love scampering up the spiral staircase to the second and third-floor bedrooms, and there are plenty of options whatever the family set-up, with two bunk rooms, two twin bedrooms and a master bedroom with an antique four-poster bed and a free-standing bath. Discover secret nooks, tartan walls and exposed stone – if you can take your eyes from the sweeping views over Strathspey.

A great property and surrounding area. We came for my wife's 50th as a treat and were very satisfied. Would strongly recommend it to anyone who fancies something a bit different

Great for a special occasion. A quirky place - the grandchildren thought they were living in Hogwarts.

What can we say... 7 of us had the time of our lives in the castle. Isolated, cosy, breath-taking location and with dark skies to die for. Close to lots of attractions...we esp loved the Cairngorm Reindeers and Landmark Adventure Park. Perfect in every way. Thankyou.
